That answers my next question, then.

[ Alisha's expression falls, her mouth turning down into a frown, as she touches the crook of her finger to her chin. Knowing that Mikleo can't sense Sorey or Lailah is definitely worrying, and she can't keep that off of her face. ]

Do you suppose you would be able to sense if something had happened to them?

[ She has too much faith in Sorey and the other seraphim to automatically jump to a worst-case conclusion without asking first. They had fought hellions, had fought dragons, had helped lay the foundation for peace between Rolance and Hyland. After seeing all of their accomplishments, she can't help but think that anything would be simple for them. ]

Perhaps they wandered off in the process of trying to find their way around.

[ In other words, maybe Sorey saw something interesting and got a little bit ahead of himself. It's the best scenario she can think up. ]

I think I would know if something had happened to Sorey and the others. [ He says that immediately. He and Sorey had known each other since they were babies, and after spending time, well, in Sorey's mind with the others, he'd gotten to know them well too. Maybe the pact didn't seem to be working here, but he could rely on his gut feelings. He's sure he would be able to tell if any of them were in any real danger.

He puts a hand to his chin as well, looking thoughtful himself. Knowing the others, they could be absolutely anywhere. The other seraphim could all be pretty strange at times. And so could Rose and Sorey, come to think of it.

Mikleo snorts at Alisha's latter comment. ] That does sound like something Sorey would do. He's never been able to sit still for that long. [ To say the least. ] Well, we could take a look around, Alisha. It's a good idea to stick together.

[ Alisha visibly relaxes when Mikleo says that he would know if something had happened to Sorey and the others; just hearing that is enough to soothe whatever worries she might have had. ]

I see! [ She drops her hand from her chin, tucking her arms behind her back. ] Then... since this is Sorey we're talking about, we should keep our eyes peeled for anything that looks like it belongs in the Celestial Record.

[ Given how... different everything is, though, that might be a lofty goal. Then again, this is Alisha. She's never been one to shy away from a challenge. ]

What do you suppose would be of the most interest to him?

[ Of most interest to Sorey and something that might belong in the Celestial Record? Mikleo considers this for a few moments. ]

Honestly, Sorey seems to get excited over anything in the Celestial Record, from stag beetles to tree stumps. [ Either of those things seem like they could be plentiful in a place like this. Although... ] But out of everything, he's most interested in exploring ruins, monoliths, things like that. I wonder if there are any ruins around here?

[ He's only curious in case Sorey is there. Not because he wants to explore them himself or anything. Of course not. ]

[ Alisha can't quite keep herself from laughing at that, if only because it sounds like a very "Sorey" thing to do.

(Then again, even if she doesn't express it quite as often as he does, she isn't much different. Even if her duties as a princess and a knight come first, exploring ruins is a dream of hers. Such is the fate of losers who read the Celestial Record.) ]

I haven't come across any myself, but I haven't done much exploring, either. [ She had been more occupied with exploring this particular area, and then she saw Mikleo, but... ] It's hard to say whether or not there are any nearby, but I don't think it would hurt to take a look. And, like you said, sticking together is likely in our best interest.

[ Even if there aren't any ruins, they might find something else worth checking out, anyway. ]

[ Sorey, Mikleo and Alisha are like the three musketeers, but instead of being cool, they're actually all just huge nerds. The three nerdeteers. Whoops.

Mikleo pauses to consider how likely it is that Sorey's in trouble somewhere. The likelihood is high, really. So, he nods. ]

Yes, I'd say we should. Besides, it's a good idea to find out as much about our surroundings as possible. [ Just in case anything really weird is going on here, apart from the obvious factor of it not being anything like where they're from. ] I can't sense malevolence here, so we should be safe from hellions, for now. But we should be on guard.

[ See, he's completely mature and reasonable. There was no geeking out over chairs and tables. None at all. ]
