[ The elf is in his gleaming half-plate, the watersilk cape emblazoned with the Unseelie King's sigil pinned to his shoulders. He's been a bright point in the feast, brightly smiling, gracious with those others who are obviously new. The goblet of wine in his hand pauses halfway to his mouth. ]

Begging your pardon, I... don't understand.

[ But a look at the cigarette seems to jog a memory, and after a moment of hesitation, he adds, ]

You mean fire...?

[The guy's looking at her like she just asked him to do a double back flip after eating out his mom and she rolls her eyes. Serves her right for relying on B to have the lighter.]

Yeah, Og, I mean fire. You know, the pretty magical orange thing that burns?

[ He'd have known that tone from any other mouth, being so familiar with it himself. A snap of his fingers sparked a little curl of flame over his fingertips; magic. ]

Oh, do spare me the lash of your tongue! I've scars enough already.

[She looks at the flame in his hand, then back at him. Then she shrugs and leans in to light the tip of her cigarette.]

Then you should be used to it.

[ He flashed a grin, and the fire grew- just enough to consume the cigarette all at once in a puff of smoke, and maybe singe the tip of her nose. ]

[She snarled at him, hand coming up to her nose, canines showing as a growl left her.]

Hey, asshole, that's a waste of a perfectly fucking good cigarette.

[ He shrugged his narrow shoulders, smiling, utterly unperturbed by the show of teeth. ]
