You are certainly more forward than most mortals I have met.
[A gold band, the Nibelungen ring, shines on her finger.]
no subject
Ha! You could say I get that frequently!
[His tone was smooth, playful, but his mind was a-fire with the distressing idea that the All-Mother had somehow been brainwashed again. He had to ask the right questions to confirm.]
...Does your father know you're here?
no subject
Lenneth's lips press together in a thin line at his tone and it's suddenly very tempting to change back into her armor. That's not an option though, it would draw attention she doesn't currently care for and something tells her it would satisfy him in some way.]
He does not. [Her eyes narrow.] What kind of mortal are you that you would ask such a thing?
no subject
[He shrugged disarmingly.]
The duties of a Valkyrie, I believe, don't involve attending lavish parties outside of Valhalla. Am I not right?
[Despite her cagey body language, Lezard saw no qualms in stepping closer with an insufferable grin. What he wouldn't give to rip that ring right off of her, but no, he'll play the game as it is for the time being.]
I merely express my interest and adoration! Such rebellion.
Have a drink with me, my sweet, and let us break curfew.
no subject
My duties involve very little celebration ever. [She collects the souls of warriors and what they do in Valhalla is the closest she's come in a long time.]
Most detest the Chooser of the Slain. [A death goddess she is, to most.] And most know not to be so familiar with one.
no subject
Death itself is natural. I do not fear it, even in its inevitability.
[He then offered a hand. He would not look at the ring again, lest he be tempted to rip the thing off and repeat what happened before. No, that would be no fun this time.]
To pointedly avoid the festivities and deny yourself a night's tomfoolery is unbearable to me! Unless a man succumbs to alcohol poisoning, surely you can consider but one night off~
no subject
[She crosses her arms over her chest instead.] I only see those selected to be wasting an opportunity to gain advantage over our enemy.
no subject
[Ah, but with that ring on her finger, he doubted she could comprehend, not with what she presumed to be her 'father' whispering brainwashing nothings in her ear.]
...Or perhaps they may be gauging who is an ally and who is not. As you are, I suppose you're a member of the Seelie court, are you not?
[Folding his arms behind his back, his eyes remained trained on the festivities. Look who became a fellow wallflower.]
no subject
I am one of the Seelie, yes. [Her lips form a thin line, suspicion starting to shape some of her features.]
no subject
[He grinned and tipped his head her way.]
Well, you're not sticking me with your sword, anyway. Still, I see no reason that we cannot get a 'feel' for the others regardless of court.
Snooping, I believe is the word. It draws less attention than cutting down every Chaotic One you see.
no subject
However well we might get along, you are the enemy in this war. And you have no place among those of this court.
[Now she'll step towards him, gaze turning to a glare. Now she could be justified in taking up her weapon and armor. Maybe not to kill him but to force him away.]
What secrets could you hope to find here tonight?
no subject
[He seemed unfazed by Lenneth's threatening body language, instead pursing his lips slightly in contemplation before shrugging.]
Perhaps how they make their wine, how the fae prepare their meals... it's all exquisite and I find myself curious. I surely hope their food preparation isn't shrouded in mystery.
[Then he chuckled. Silly Valkyrie. So obedient...]
You're so tense- that's no way to carry yourself at a feast celebrating us, the new pawns in this particular game. You'll excite the royal families that called us here.
Perhaps I ought bring you a glass of wine to settle the nerves.
no subject
[Damn right, she's obedient.]
I hardly care about the celebration. I was brought here for one purpose and that is to fight and win this war in the name of the Seelie. I have every intention of doing just that.
[And hardly anything more. Except maybe find a few extra einherjar to take along.]
no subject
Do you truly see no reason not to participate in this war or Ragnarok?
Does not a single, solitary other thought cross your mind... of the times between sleep, of that very pretty ring wrapped around your finger?
