[ Ned smells strongly of wolf, fur, sweat, the wild-- and his craggy face turns down at the bump on the hip, heavy brows raised to form neat arches of surprise. ]

Ho there, lad. Haven't been trying to sneak too many sweets, have you?

I have it on good authority the lemon cakes are superb.

[The mix of smells - definitely very, very well known and in a sudden whiff in the mix of the feat - definitely catches him.

He looks up for eye contact with the one who he's bumped - with his own eyes wide for just a moment of pinning down and locking identification of the source, and sucks in an inhale through his nose (ought to come off as obligatory gasp, for certainty's sake.

It is definitely a human. Or he's someone or something who looks like one.

And from that, he can't see that Toboe isn't.

His expression slackens and tenses. It's diversion of expectations, and for the short term it's equal parts disappointed and relieved. He's not getting shooed or told off for eating off the table, at least. And perhaps there are wolves outside of this - wherever-this-is...?]

Oh, uh -

[It's emphatic as filler noises can be. "Snapping out of it". Looks back over at the food to get his own head back in the game. And back again at the stranger. Grins. Lets his eyes light up a bit.] - the lemon cakes...?

[And follows his nose back again over the table, if out of curiosity on this particular point. He knows what lemon smells like, and he hasn't eaten much of any sweet before, but - either way that sounds like a bit of permission or invitation to eat. Aye, he's not going to get into any trouble here.

His next look at the stranger's mostly sideways - sheepish appreciative grin, lets his voice go husky in and out of an enthusiastic sigh, scans the table again.]
This is the most food I've seen in ages...
