We don't have a computer at home.

[Since they're a bunch of parentless kids and all. And it's easier just to use their phones for everything. Enma edges a tiny bit closer to the screen, not sure what the girl means]

What part?

All of it?

[She felt even better when Enma mentioned not having a computer. Maybe she could get away with this.]

I...um, I have this condition. It's called dyslexia. [And thank you, Camp Jupiter, for teaching her that word. The 1930s were a much simpler time, when children like her who struggled in school were simply called lazy.] A few of my friends have it too. It makes reading hard for us.

[Of course, they had the benefits of a modern education helping them along the way.]

Oh.

[He feels kind of bad now for not helping properly]

It just wants you to make a username and password.

[She actually knows what that means! Finally.]

So it wants my name, and some sort of secret code. I can do that.

[She glanced back down at the keys. If nothing else, Hazel could at least read and spell her own name, which she slowly typed out one key at a time: H-A-Z-E-L. Her password? ...well, if she told anyone, then there wouldn't be much point in having one in the first place.]

Now what?

Press the big button there.

[Enma points to the enter key]

Then...you just do whatever.

[Isn't he the most helpful?]

[She did, and a moment later, a series of images and...more words (yay) appeared on screen. Most of them were faces she didn't recognize, but the way they were moving made it look like they were speaking directly to her.]

Oh, wow.

[Oh good it worked]

Yeah.

What do most people use this for?

[From here on out, it was pure exploration. Navigation links were all but useless to her unless they came with a picture, so Hazel stuck with those. Pulling up either files she couldn't read or video clips that looked like one-sided interrogations.]

Internet. Games. And stuff.

[That was all the important things anyway]

Internet?

[She hoped that sounded more like surprise that this "internet" would be here, rather than a general question as to what the word actually meant.]

Yeah. Can't connect to anyone outside of here though.

[He'll assume that's what she meant, unless she needs him to clarify]
