[ She has to shake her head, and inwardly rolls her eyes. ]

I didn't exactly get a choice in coming here, or who I came with, clearly. [ and if that is not a pointed look at Anders, well... ] So if he is here I've yet to actually find him.
keepgoing: (pic#7598671)

was it elf by any chance? it could have been elf.

[personal profile] keepgoing 2014-04-04 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[ For all the elves that Sam has now seen in such a short period of time, he is no less in awe of their wonder. He knows now how how to notice the differences between the elves wandering the woods near his home that inspired dreams and fancy, and those with cities and homes and stable lives to live. They are something different to him now, but beautiful and awesome they remain eternally.

Now simple Sam Gamgee from the Shire can't tell the difference between different classes of elves. They all look like lords and ladies of the highest degree to him, but the one who's come up to him now on his frantic search for Frodo reminds him of Lord Celeborn, most present in his mind aside from the Lady Galadriel whose impression would never leave him in all his years, he's sure. This one is definitely a lord or king or something, he must be. Sam swallows, averting his eyes in respect. ]

I am, Master Elf, sir. I've been taken from someone, and I've got to find him, you see.

[ The touch is unexpected, but it does not interrupt his concentration. After observing the frost, Kaldur pauses a moment, to consider the question. ]

I do not have the skill of my own to do so. My training was interrupted, and I have not had the chance to complete it due to other matters. [ It was a voluntary interruption, but as he is here he is hoping to make up for the lack, and to learn other talents as he may. ]

But others have greater talent than I, and I have seen others do more fantastical things.

I was still learning, and my focus was more combative.
disdainful: (04)

i'm so sorry this took so long!! but i was just as excited to see you

[personal profile] disdainful 2014-04-05 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, yes, ex-angel though Gabriel may be, a heavenly degree of patience is still required whenever they have any conversation, and Gabriel employs that now.]

It would not exactly be the best hiding spot.

[Bartimaeus eyes him. There's a slightly judgmental cast to the look.]

In my opinion, death has never been any great release. Perhaps it's different for humans. You are welcome to try, if you're that desperate.

I imagine not. I do intend to keep any experience in that area to a minimum if at all possible - I've had enough close shaves already, believe you me.
bythewaves: (Default)

suddenly a rekhyt! =p

[personal profile] bythewaves 2014-04-11 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Maglor only shrugs - he knows, he knows. ]

For my people, it has been seen as such at times - it would not be uncommon, if the hroa, the body, was wounded enough, for the soul to flee. But I am not that desperate. [ yet hangs in the air between them ]

rekhyt: (Default)

he sneaks up on you

[personal profile] rekhyt 2014-04-11 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
So then your spirit is forced out into the cold and then what happens to it? No, it's best to dodge that fate if at all possible.
bythewaves: (weary)

such a sneaky djinni

[personal profile] bythewaves 2014-04-12 09:03 am (UTC)(link)
"In my own world we would return to the Halls of Waiting." Maglor shrugs, it is not that bad a fate, in his opinion. "We are meant to be bound to Arda, so I know not what would happen here. I suppose it would be foolish to test that here."
ashing: (Default)

aaah sorry for lateness too!

[personal profile] ashing 2014-04-14 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
You're going to tell me heaven and hell care about fairies?

[Maybe there could be some reassurance taken from the status quo remaining intact, but John wasn't interested in that particular reassurance (how long had he argued the whole war was bullshit, anyway?), and he definitely wasn't interested in taking it from Gabriel.]

It's more likely they threw you out with the trash.
disdainful: (02)

it's worth the wait

[personal profile] disdainful 2014-04-15 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
Can I ask you to refrain from that sort of talk, or would that just be pointless?

[Probably pointless. Definitely pointless.]

As it happens, it has nothing to do with either of them. Do you see what I did there, John? I was honest. Sometimes honesty is important in situations like this.
rekhyt: (Default)

[personal profile] rekhyt 2014-04-16 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
[He looks rather unimpressed - it's been his expression for a good deal of the conversation.]

So you know death wouldn't be the release you want and you still are set on dying, are you? Well, it's a creative form of madness.
bythewaves: (makalaure)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2014-04-16 09:16 am (UTC)(link)
[ and he is likely to remain unimpressed, tbh ]

I never said I was sane. [ he is well aware that he probably isn't, at this point ]
rekhyt: (Default)

[personal profile] rekhyt 2014-04-16 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Self aware as well - you do have a leg up on the competition, don't you?
bythewaves: (Default)

[personal profile] bythewaves 2014-04-17 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose that remains to be seen.
ashing: (Default)

[personal profile] ashing 2014-04-24 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[Definitely pointless, which is probably apparent from the sneer curling John's lip again. There's the strong urge to get up and walk away, not stay in Gabriel's presence - it used to be some kind of balm, a hope at assurance or comfort, but now it felt like something cloying or greasy over his skin.

He wonders if this place has showers.]

Spare me the lecture. You lost any right to talk about honesty four innocent lives ago.
disdainful: (13)

[personal profile] disdainful 2014-05-02 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[There is importance, Gabriel thinks, in pretending things have not changed. Or so the internal conversation has gone over and over again since this whole affair ended so poorly. (Which was a pleasant way to put it, to say in the least.) But John doesn't believe in that, John believes in poking and prodding and for once he actually has the higher moral position.

Which makes things difficult. Gabriel frowns.]

Mistakes were made. But they are in the past, and now we need each others help.

[ When he feels Melkor's presence weighing on his own, for that half-second of time he is sure this is a trick. Those who brought him here has tried to deceive him, the one they called the deceiver, with pleasantry. It isn't until he feels his fingers, hears his mind and voice, sees the flesh he carried that he knew the truth of his Lord's presence.

( it sits in the pit of his stomach like a rock unmelting. )

His surprise is palpable, but it is merely that; surprise. ]

My Lord.
