babydoll | sucker punch
[babydoll has always wanted to escape, get away from the constricted world that she had been forced into, but this isn't what she had in mind. the last she remembers of home is the soldiers, how close they had been to killing her, and then imps happened. they caught her off-guard, to say the least.
and now she's here, stuck awkwardly near one of the hallways of the castle, relieved that her weapons are still on her person.
it takes her a moment to really recognize the situation- she was so close to getting the map. the mix of disappointment and fear does not settle well in her stomach. her awkwardness quickly disperses as she looks at the map that she was given not long ago, memorizing the names of each place. if she's going to be here a while, she may as well know what she's doing.
with a sigh, she glances up towards the crowd again. she's decidedly sticking in one spot in case sweet pea or rocket or anyone show up nearby.]
This is really not good.
[it's murmured under her breath, but it doesn't make it any less true.]

All of it fills him with regret that only so few were given a choice, or rather agreed to come willingly, for the choice may have been nothing but an illusion of good will. Perhaps there was no other way, perhaps what lay ahead was more grave than what the fairies initially said if such a great many creatures were brought here against their wills.
This may not be his responsibility, but he may just as well offer a word of comfort where it's needed. Soothe nerves, perhaps, if one is willing to listen. He hears the murmur and he turns towards the source, looking at a daughter of the Men, young and fair, the words fall easy from his lips, tone kind, well-meaning if distant. ]
It is not, as is all war and battle and encroaching darkness, but hopeless it is neither.

You're right.
and it's not hopeless. if there's a way in, there's a way out. it's just sometimes a little more difficult at times.
baby still may be a little uncertain around the presence of men, if not completely ambivalent. she always gives people a chance, though, especially when she doesn't feel threatened by them.]
I just have somewhere I need to be.

[Didn't take a genius to figure that one out. At least she was aware of it. Too many people were living it up at the party here. Dean just didn't get it. He'd never been capable of that kind of trust.]
This whole party's a little too convenient. Whoever's responsible knew enough to apply a false sense of security.
no subject
I'm not so sure about that.
[from what she's seen so far, whoever doesn't pay attention to their drink is slipped something by the fairies or the imps, and it was certainly enough to have her toss her drink immediately after witnessing it.]
no subject
What makes you such an expert?
[She was stuck here like the rest of them, but if she had some information to give Dean wasn't gonna pass up the opportunity.]
no subject
You haven't had anything to eat or drink yet, right?
[she crosses her arms,]
I've been watching the fairies, they've been dropping things in peoples' drinks if they aren't paying attention.

[Somehow he's not surprised at her assessment, just surprised that he didn't notice it first. Usually he's more aware of his surroundings but lately he's been more preoccupied with finding people from home or traces of where he's been to notice much else. That's the first thing he does when he gets put in a situation like this, find contacts from home. His priority always Sam.]
Wouldn't put it past 'em though. Roofies? Some welcome.
no subject
No one's hurt, though.
[that's really what's important.]
