[ his world is darkness and candles and pages and norrell, as it has been for weeks, months. years? it's hard to say. he hadn't managed to keep track of time those first few months, doubted he was capable of it now. when his world suddenly changes, the immediate assumption is that they've broken the curse.

only in the place of darkness and norrell, there are fairies and strangers and feasts. it's all very familiar, but also not remotely the result they'd intended. strange doesn't so much as look at the food and drink, and if there weren't an impulse to remain polite, displacement aside, he'd be shouting out a challenge; but there is, and so he doesn't, and when no familiar fairies (or otherwise) make themselves known, he instead makes eye contact with a stranger and offers a smile. ]

Pardon me, but it seems I've taken a wrong step. Do you know the way back to the King's Roads?

[ wrong turn, clearly. easy to fix. ]

There is no road back to where you came from.

[ joji's eyes were hidden by the tint of his glasses, the otherworldliness of what he was masked. aa a former member of dai-shocker, he knew the shape of worlds and could usually feel the thinness between the worlds and how to breach them, but in this place, that sense was gone. he could still pick up on the powers of others.

the only problem was that there were too many powers. too many variables and he found his senses reeling. there was no rider, but there were others close to one and he still felt uneasy by the sheer purpose this realm gave him.]

They have cut them all off.

I LOVE THIS BOOK AND I LOVE YOU

[Loki is not quite particularly sure how he found himself here, and by all accounts, perhaps he really should be worried, but perhaps this is also one of All-Mother's tests, another way to prove himself.

Clad in the green clothing of Asgard and a horned and golden tiara of sorts, Loki observes this land until he hears a question.]

I'm afraid we've both taken a wrong step into a new land. I have no idea where to look for a King's Road.

Drink a few of these and you'll end up wherever you goddamn please.

( A jaunty little salute, just on the cusp of mocking. He raises his goblet of - whatever it is - uncaring that some of the froth sloshes out over the side, splashing out over the table. He's halfway to nirvana, himself.

—because Roy is a child of American individualism at its worst, meaning that he does what he wants, when he wants, how he wants. Manners and all that fairy stuff (not that kind of fairy stuff, present company notwithstanding) are meant for people who give a damn. )
