Will Scarlet [Knave of Hearts] ❤ OUAT in Wonderland

[personal profile] knavishness 2014-03-17 10:05 am (UTC)(link)
[This was not Wonderland. This was not any land that Will could think of off the top of his head. For a brief moment after the imps had deposited him in this world he thought he was back in the Enchanted Forest, which would have been a sight better than the inside of that stupid, toiletless bottle. But this place, as stunning as it was, was nothing like the castles he remembered from home.

He frowned at the idea of thinking of the Enchanted Forest as home.

Shaking his head he tried to get some real answers from those around him. He was handed drinks, and food, and offers to get to know them better, but nothing close to the answers he wanted. Whatever this place really was, the people knew better than to wag their tongues, even under the influence of a good party.

Will downed a glass of champagne in one go. He was tired of being pulled around for the amusement of others. He tried very hard not to get involved, not to get attached, and look what happens, kidnapped by imps and stuffed with food. Right. Not the greatest complaint, but it would have been nice if they'd asked!

He grabbed another drink off a passing tray and walked around table groaning with food, and despite not being all that hungry, pinched a tiny cake. As he brought it up to his lips, his eyes noticed a glint of gold around his wrists.]

Bloody hell.

[Had he really become so used to these cuffs so soon?

He shoved the bite-sized cake into his mouth and turned to look at the partying crowd, wondering if any of these people knew of a way to break a genie's curse.]

Fenris | DA2

[ Fenris, already soundly drunk, neatly nicked the glass of champagne out of Will's hand and threw back its contents, downing them neatly.

He thrust the empty glass back into Will's hand.

You got a bit of icing. On your face. [ Made a vague motion in the general area of the offending sweet. ]

Will wipes his mouth with the back of his jacket sleeve with a frown. Trust him to make a fool of himself right off.

"Thanks, mate." Despite the thanks he's still frowning over the loss of his drink as he took the empty glass back. It wasn't like there was a lack of alcohol around. "Might want to easy up on that."

"Why would anyone want to endure this mage-madness sober?" snarled Fenris, softly, in a drunk-muddled rage. He snatched two glasses from another passing tray, shoving one at the other man; his roughness sent a few others clattering to the floor, the crystal thin enough that it only chimed before it was broken still further by passing feet.

He took no heed, downing one glass as quick as he had the one he'd stolen from Will. "Likely we're just... in the Fade. And when our bodies wake, this will just be a dream." He squinted mistrustfully at Will, then, mouth twisting.

"Maybe you're the demon responsible?"

"Could be fairy touched." Not that Will cared all that much about what fairies did. It was doubtful their magic could do too much to him in his current state.

Still, better not to test that theory just yet. He slowly sipped the drink as he thought about those nice, cold beers he'd enjoyed only days ago.

"I've got no idea what the Fade is, but I'm pretty sure we're all awake here." He frowned at the man. "No need to go blaming innocent people for this mess."

[personal profile] restandbegrateful 2014-03-18 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't believe in innocent people," murmurs Fenris, over the rim of the glass he holds, dark eyes flitting around the strange, glittering elegance of the gala. He looks utterly and absurdly out of place-- an elf slightly short by human standards, in piecemeal armor, bare feet. He shifted uneasily where he stood, was always looking about, over his shoulder... like a wild animal uncertain of his territory.

"I... can't tell if it's drunk or dream. And I can't find Hawke, who'd know what..." What to do. He swallowed thickly, looking into the fluted glass for a moment before staring hard back up at Will. "Where are you from? The Free Marches? Ferelden? You have... something like that accent."

"Yeah, well, I'm innocent in this. Imps got me too you know." He wasn't going to take the blame for this magic. Even if it had been some weird wish by Jafar, Will was fairly certain he'd remember making the wish happen.

The anxiety of the elf was getting to him. Will was generally a suspicious man by nature, but he didn't go around acting as though someone might jump out at him at any given moment. "Look, maybe if you cut back you might figure out if you were dreaming." His words might have been a stronger argument if he didn't finish off his own glass as he said them.

"Nah, never heard of those lands. I'm from...bit of all over." He wasn't ready to call the Enchanted Forest home out loud just yet.

[personal profile] restandbegrateful 2014-03-20 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Fenris stared at Will for a hard moment, lips thin, a muscle in his narrow jaw working.

"It's... when you go to the Fade, it... often involves a sort of spelled sleep. If it's cleverly done, you never even know. You might spend years in the company of demons, wearing the faces of those familiar to you simply so they can leech your warmth." He hesitated there, watching the gala from the corners of his eyes. Mistrustful. But he scanned the crowd too quickly, and it wasn't difficult to tell that he was looking, desperate for some spare edge of familiarity.

He looked down at his hand, and the empty glass in it. "... I think I'll... go outside."

madcuriosity: (I have an idea!)

I heard you're not supposed to eat the food faeries offer you. [Alice said as she saw the man beside her eating so easily.] You should be careful, sir. Though, I don't know how true it is. This turns a bit of everything I know on its head. And I don't think it's a nice experience to turn on your head, it must be quite painful lest it wouldn't be an expression for something so hard.
