:The first computers were human, you know. Mostly women. They'd work in teams to solve math problems. Then people started making machines that do that, and a lot more... They used to be the size of rooms.:
[Under the 'sound' of her voice her body makes soft pterosaur noises, easily missed.]

I have never seen or heard of such a thing. [There was a puzzled look in his eyes at the unfamiliar terms being thrown at him. Beleg also looks a bit distracted, hearing both pterosaur noises and a clear voice coming from the same body at the same time.]

[Math was never her favorite topic, but Janine has a ridiculous memory for some things. She walks out farther onto the patio, as if completely unconcerned by his alarm.]
:Man, human things are small. I didn't realize I'd have trouble with doorways. What a shame, huh? It's more comfortable inside.:

He kept a careful eye on her as she moved further out into the patio, and coincidentally closer to hi spot.]

I am well versed to living in the wild in weather of all kinds. As for why this place...it is a neutral place, away from the manoeuvring of the courts. And what of you?

:I don't like doing things just on someone's say-so, when I don't know what I'm getting into.: [Less flatly-] :And, I know a bit about human tech.:

Then we have that much in common. [Beleg holds out the table towards her.] What know you of this?

He's not entirely sure what she means by 'button things in the glass', but he does tap one of colorful box-like pictures on the glass, and blinks as the view in the glass changes entirely.
It turns into blocks of tiny pictures, different from the ones he'd seen before, all laid out neatly in rows and columns. He reads the only words he sees on the screen:] Picture Gallery?
no subject
:Fancy! Yeah, that would be just a place where pictures are stored. If you touch one of those it'll get bigger. And you should be able to put more pictures in the gallery, but I actually have no idea how.:
no subject
I see. [Beleg taps one of the pictures and it expands to fill the screen. It's a picture of the Hidden Falls.] A beautiful place it depicts, but one I have not seen before.

[Her milky inner eyelids shuttle across her big red eyes.]
:Yeah, I think... if you hit one of those arrowhead buttons it should show you the picture that was next to this one in the gallery.:
