[It's not that Janine hasn't noticed the effect she has on people - quite as if they've never talked to psychic pterosaurs! - it's that she chooses to act like she hasn't noticed. All the better for coming off as aloof and casual.]

:The first computers were human, you know. Mostly women. They'd work in teams to solve math problems. Then people started making machines that do that, and a lot more... They used to be the size of rooms.:

[Under the 'sound' of her voice her body makes soft pterosaur noises, easily missed.]
beleg: (disturbed)

[personal profile] beleg 2014-03-18 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
[If asked, Beleg will answer truthfully that he has never talked to psychic ptesoaurs, much less seen one. Beleg's pose relaxes minutely, but his hand remains on the hilt of his sword as Janine continues 'speaking'.]

I have never seen or heard of such a thing. [There was a puzzled look in his eyes at the unfamiliar terms being thrown at him. Beleg also looks a bit distracted, hearing both pterosaur noises and a clear voice coming from the same body at the same time.]
pterosaur: (I shall come to you who hurt me most)

[personal profile] pterosaur 2014-03-18 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
:So you haven't. I don't know why that was ever a thing people did - astronomy, maybe. Or logistics.:

[Math was never her favorite topic, but Janine has a ridiculous memory for some things. She walks out farther onto the patio, as if completely unconcerned by his alarm.]

:Man, human things are small. I didn't realize I'd have trouble with doorways. What a shame, huh? It's more comfortable inside.:

[At over 6 foot, Beleg was taller than most humans. So he definitely agreed that human furniture was too small. Or at least, fitted him awkwardly. Janine he could not see fitting into them at all.

He kept a careful eye on her as she moved further out into the patio, and coincidentally closer to hi spot.]

I find I prefer the fresh air out here.
pterosaur: (⬲And not be the first.)

[personal profile] pterosaur 2014-03-19 12:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[She regards him with an expressionless red eye and resists the temptation to poke the little humanlike thing with the tip of her beak. Janine's not used to being in this body around humans and human things. She's a lot bigger than she'd assumed she was, back in the Cretaceous.]

:You'd sing a different tune if you ended up naked when winter starts. So. Why the station here?:
beleg: (sideways glance)

[personal profile] beleg 2014-03-20 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[If Janine had poked him he would have responded with drawing his sword and possibly doing damage with it.]

I am well versed to living in the wild in weather of all kinds. As for why this place...it is a neutral place, away from the manoeuvring of the courts. And what of you?
pterosaur: (⅋Joy has gone the way it came.)

[personal profile] pterosaur 2014-03-20 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Her friend Loki would have done it. Or worse. Janine's got a little more impulse control than that, though.]

:I don't like doing things just on someone's say-so, when I don't know what I'm getting into.: [Less flatly-] :And, I know a bit about human tech.:
beleg: (ready to shoot)

[personal profile] beleg 2014-03-22 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's good she does because Beleg's not very good with surprises of that sort.]

Then we have that much in common. [Beleg holds out the table towards her.] What know you of this?
pterosaur: (⅋I could get along the same)

[personal profile] pterosaur 2014-03-22 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
:Hah.: [She angles her head, trying to see it from multiple angles.] :Smaller than the ones I've seen before. And it doesn't have keys or a mouse... Try poking one of the icons with your finger. Icons are those button things in the glass.:
beleg: (thinking it over)

[personal profile] beleg 2014-03-24 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Slowly, Beleg is feeling a bit more relaxed in her presence.

He's not entirely sure what she means by 'button things in the glass', but he does tap one of colorful box-like pictures on the glass, and blinks as the view in the glass changes entirely.

It turns into blocks of tiny pictures, different from the ones he'd seen before, all laid out neatly in rows and columns. He reads the only words he sees on the screen:]
Picture Gallery?

[personal profile] pterosaur 2014-03-24 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
[Everything's so small Janine's having trouble picking up on details. She's better with distant things.]

:Fancy! Yeah, that would be just a place where pictures are stored. If you touch one of those it'll get bigger. And you should be able to put more pictures in the gallery, but I actually have no idea how.:
beleg: (thinking it over)

[personal profile] beleg 2014-03-25 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
[The pictures on this 'tablet' was very clear and crisp and clean, completely different from the painted pictures Beleg is used to.]

I see. [Beleg taps one of the pictures and it expands to fill the screen. It's a picture of the Hidden Falls.] A beautiful place it depicts, but one I have not seen before.
pterosaur: (⅋Many people do.)

[personal profile] pterosaur 2014-03-25 11:42 am (UTC)(link)
:Oh, it's a waterfall! Huh.:

[Her milky inner eyelids shuttle across her big red eyes.]

:Yeah, I think... if you hit one of those arrowhead buttons it should show you the picture that was next to this one in the gallery.:
