[Of all the possible familiar faces, David's is one of the most welcome. Despite their current predicament and the almost overwhelming number of unknown factors involved, Emma manages to crack a small half-smile in reply when she hears his voice.

There's someone with a good head on his shoulders, at least.]


No offense, but your home isn't exactly the kind of place I want to be reminded of right about now. I've been there. Curses and ogres. Not a lot else going on.

It has its perks. [ like the eternal optimism only fairy tale heroes are capable of, for one. ] But I'm not sure I can say the same for this place.

[ it's said very nicely, considering it's a dig at their hosts, leaning on cautious observation rather than any hard sarcasm. david casts a glance back into the room before his attention returns to emma, and it's then that it occurs to him that things have gone more awry than he originally thought. ] You remember me.

[ captain obvious. but the implication's there: showing up here could just be a mistake of the curse breaking, but emma remembering anything about him and his home means the spell didn't work, either. ]
