[ The Station is somewhere he has been meaning to visit for a while, so completely foreign to Thranduil as to be alien in ways that the Drabwurld is not. Letting his unicorn steed munch the flowers outside, the tall Elvenking wanders the interior with almost childlike fascination, long fingers drifting over this and that as he marvels at the ingenuity of Men.

An elven sword rests holsters at a hip every time he travels from Caer Glaem, though it remains untouched even when he gives pause in the room a young man is occupying, sharp grey eyes catching the shimmer of a reflected metallic surface hidden on his person. He stares at him for a long moment and then, deeming him not too grand of a threat, turns to cock his head at a coffee peculator, almost gingerly tapping it.

How does any of this work. ]

[Used to having to play pretty close attention to his surroundings, Dean sees the guy walk in. Part of his focus on what he's doing and the rest watching the weirdo outta his peripheral. He doesn't look like anyone he's ever seen before. A little too pristine, and the sword there's not comforting.

He also looks really out of his element. Sure, he's suspicious but he's not gonna come right out and make it obvious. Instead he goes for the next best thing. A little friendliness can go a long way, especially when you're look for answers.
]

You look pretty lost, pal.

I am not.

[ Technically, anyway. If he's sidestepping admitting he doesn't know what he's doing when he moves onto a kettle (!! this is more familiar, oh) then Dean wouldn't be wrong in needling him on that, too. Thranduil doesn't look over, knowing where the speaker is sitting and dually interested in watching the new object boil water without a flame, eyeing the electric cord and plug (which look an awful lot like a strange rope and hook combination). ]

How are these powered?

[ He isn't above asking for answers, however. ]

I dunno, Einstein. Electricity? Plug goes in the wall, out comes action.

[And coffee. Which is pretty amazing too. Not that he trusts it. Eventually he's gonna give it a chance but today's not that day. Tomorrow might not be either.]

And we're all lost right now, but nice try.

What does the — [ with a careful pause to put the emphasis on that word where it ought to be, copying Dean ] — 'electricity' stem from? What is the source?

[ For the moment, he puts aside the notion of being lost. He'll come back to it once he's found clarification. ]

Usually? Wiring in the wall. Here, I'm not sure. I guess it could be magic.

[That's sarcasm, and Dean makes it pretty obvious that he thinks what they're dealing with and being forced into is bogus. After spending as long as he has trying for some intel on the place and getting no results he's more than just a little bitter.]
