Nita Callahan | Young Wizards
She hasn't touched her food.
Pensively, she traces the rim of her cup with her finger and leans over to the person sitting next to her.]
What do you think of all this?

[ One could question Nita's inclination to lean over and talk to the cat sitting next to her, but Saash certainly wouldn't. She'd come over to plop down on the chair next to her for plenty of good reasons and the likelihood of conversation actually was one of those (for once). ]

[ Saash poses it as a question, albeit a not entirely serious one. She stops talking for a moment to bend her head over and give one of her ears a good scratch with a back paw, then continues. ]

... I think that utter strangers are going to great length, great expense, to keep the whole motley lot of us entertained.
[ He says it just a trifle heavily, and the implication is clear: he doesn't trust it. But he puts on a spare sliver of smile, gesturing to both their plates, the food untouched, as if to say, 'great minds'. Really, his eyes say it for him. ]

[The young boy sitting there looks over and smiles serenely, seemingly worry free. There is a warmth in his smile, a genuine goodness behind it which might remind Nita of another young boy she knows. However, there is a bit more naivety behind it in this case. He hasn't touched his food yet, but you could get the impression that it was less from concern and more from manners.]

I wouldn't count on that just yet. I don't think they brought us here just to have a party.
excuse me as I quietly scream over Nita
I think it'd be safer to accept this as reality than something fake, if that's what you're asking.
[He looks more annoyed at this situation than alarmed.]
