The Grand Elusa | Lost Years of Merlin
Do you like my web?
[Alternately: In basically any of the given forests, there is a clearing where fine glowing webs bedeck the trees and the spaces between them. They are elaborately, fantastically woven in many different sizes, the silk in many different thicknesses, made to catch anything from insects to deer. Or perhaps people. You've only got this far unsnagged because there was a kind of path, meticulously clear of webs.
Here in the center is a gargantuan white spider, covered in luminescent hairs, twice as tall as a horse and unhurriedly fetching antlers and bones from where they have been strung up, bringing them to her grinding, distinctly unspiderlike jaws. Her voice is deep and slow.]
Weeeelllcoooome tooo myy laaair. Aaaasssk whaaat yoouu maaay.
[aaaah god I need to canon review before doing anything serious with her. I don't even have any icons yet! The Grand Elusa's your basic immortal magic spider, intelligent and constantly hungry, except she's heroic.]
I'll take the tiny version!
When she spoke, he squinted at her, taking a moment to decide that the spider really had just talked. He'd be less inclined to believe it if he hadn't been dragged out of the middle of a firefight by imps and brought here in the first place. He took another step closer, inclining his head towards the arachnid.]
Is there something in particular about it that I should find aesthetically pleasing?
no subject
Beauty lies in the perfection of function. Webs gather all that I could need. Do not touch!
[A long-legged cranefly has gotten caught in the strands. The little spider vanishes in an orb of white light and reappears near it. She starts chewing through its abdomen with appreciative noises.]
Ahhh, so tender in the center.

Javik blinked twice when she disappeared, though he found her again quickly as she hadn't gone far. Watching the tiny spider eat reminded him of how little he'd eaten since coming here. He didn't trust the food.]
You are native to this world, are you not? You seem to find your prey appetizing.
no subject
I am native to no world, yet all I have visited have meat for me. Chitin or living stone or armor or poison, it makes for little difference.

[He crossed his arms over his chest, apparently quite content to watch a glowing spider go about her business. Javik wasn't one for conversation most days, but eventually his curiosity got the better of him.]
Yet you are very small for something that eats so much.
