( well, of all the places she could be stuck, at least they have good taste in snacks. not that she's all too hungry, what with being interdimensionally kidnapped. or whatever this is. it's some complete defiance of physics, that much she's aware of. what the point of all of it is, she's not too clear about. but this party isn't too bad, and all things considered, she's been in worse situations. certainly not weirder situations, because going from one freakshow to the next, that's pretty even in terms of strange. but the actual conditions seem a little bit less life threatening than usual, and she's not going to overlook that.

just like she's not going to overlook the sudden presence of her best friend right there at the table with her, looking just about as hungry as lydia feels, but still considering any of the tasty looking foods placed in front of them. she's glad she isn't the only one who's completely skeptical. )

[ Allison would jump, but she's too glad to see someone she knows, and not only someone she knows but someone she's close to and, frankly, adores. She'd be less happy to see, say, Derek Hale. But then, she'd be less happy to see just about anyone. Allison grins wide at her, bumping Lydia's shoulder with her own. ] I wouldn't want anyone else here.

( lydia returns the enthusiastic smile and nudges right back, playful. her smile, however bright and large, is accompanied by slightly large eyes in a rather awkward expression that reads nothing short of 'well-now-what-do-we-do?!'. it's also the look she gets when she's smiling and trying to be polite while seriously questioning someone's IQ or social aptitude. like almost every time stiles babbled at her about something, until she actually got to know him better. yeah. that face. )

And it isn't as if we haven't had our fair share of seriously bizarre situations together. I'd say at this point, we can handle just about anything.

[ Allison knows that look, and doesn't blame her for it this time. She looks around at the party surrounding them, and then back to the table, before turning fully to Lydia. ] Even being kidnapped by fairies?

( lydia's smile becomes instantly more perky and the half-barked chuckle, followed by a sweep of her eyes at the rest of the partygoers - some even weirder than the situation itself, if that's even believable - is nothing short of exasperated. )

Even getting kidnapped by faeries. I think as far as situations go, this is actually pretty tame. I mean, what we're used to involves a lot more... I dunno. Corpses?

[ Allison can't argue that point, and the look on her face shows it; she follows Lydia's gaze at the people surrounding them, shaking her head slightly. ] And psychotic killers. These people just seem like Stiles on a bender.

( the sound that comes from lydia at that comment is entirely unladylike, somewhere between snorting and squeaking and laughter. she composes herself almost instantly, though, and rubs her lips together with a wry smile. ) What, so... Harmless, essentially? I'm not sure it's safe to make an assumption that could lead to eventual injury. Better to be on our guard until we know more, right?

[ Allison smirks, too, glancing over at the redhead. ] Way better. To be honest, I'm kind of mad the bestiary doesn't have anything on faeries that I can find. There really isn't even anything on banshees, like you. [ Her face falls, a little, as she looks back out to the crowd of people and non people around them. It's a sea of clothing and hairstyles she both recognizes and doesn't, food that looks familiar but isn't, people that just look off. It leaves an unsettled feeling in her gut. She is, at least, grateful that it's not the same culture shock she got when she learned about werewolves. But then again, having as many violent wakeup calls over the past sixth months as she's had has probably numbed her to it. ] I'm kind of in the dark, you know? It's a little overwhelming.

( Lydia cocks her head to the side, squinting her eyes in thought. ) You know, you aren't wrong. I don't remember anything about faeries. Doesn't mean there isn't anything out there. Once they show up in Beacon Hills I'm sure something will show up. ( She runs her tongue over her lips and rubs them together, then gives Allison a reassuring, if not sympathetic, squeeze to her upper arm. ) What isn't overwhelming anymore, Allison? Think about it. We can handle pretty much anything. It'll be fine. And if it's not fine, then we'll just have to make it fine.

[ She's glad Lydia's there, probably more than Lydia knows. Werewolves were all fine and dandy to have on your side in a pinch, but Allison wouldn't trade having Lydia at her back for anyone. Some things were just easier with your best friend at your side. Being kidnapped to a faery realm being one of them.

She smiles gratefully at Lydia, at her ability to cut through the bullshit and make herself in charge despite whatever it was life was throwing at them. When Lydia says it, Allison believes that they can make this fine, whatever this is. ] Thanks, Lydia.
