[ said with some skepticism, as if he isn't sure the name is quite legit nor the girl attached to it if she makes such ludicrous proposals such as this one ( of course it's poisoned. or tempered with by some arse of a sorcerer or worse fairy). ]
We cannot be entirely sure of such, hence, we are not taking any unnecessary risks. It is best not to receive favors from kidnappers.

And yet no one around us is fainting because of a sleeping potion or passing out because of a Draught of Living Death, are there? I think if we were being poisoned it would be a little more obvious, don't you?

-- You seem to be overly familiar with poisons.
[ the draught of the living what, now. ]

They aren't poisons. They're potions.

[ wow hermione, he may be medieval but he's not dumb!! ]

[ GOSH WHAT SCHOOL DID YOU EVEN GO TO??? ]

I know that which you speak of, Hermione Granger; 'tis a dangerous thing.
[ and he says her name right this time, his voice heavier around her. ]

Do you mean magic? What do you think brought you here, exactly?
[ She's soured towards him, now, lips pursing. ]

[ or if one trusts the likes of Merlin with it but nevermind!!! ]
And if magic has taken me away from a kingdom I vowed to protect, I do not see how you hope to present it as anything welcomed.

[ She purses her lips, taking a deep breath and counting backwards from ten. ]
Have you tried asking someone about it, or perhaps trying to figure out what good you could do here so you can go home?

[ he sighs; it's not that he ignores her annoyance because she is right, at least partly. if he can offer his protection for this land he would do so. but to aid those of magic is --
well unheard of. magic has taken too much from Arthur and though he doesn't hate it, no, he is not his father; but he is wary and weary of it. ]
If I can aid this land against its troubles, I shall certainly attempt to, with all that I can; but my kingdom needs my protection, we are at war. As much as I wish I could offer to stay in these borders, I cannot quite do so when my own kingdom is in peril. I would sooner aid this land from Camelot than discard it.

[ Hermione's ire relaxes a little and she steps closer, trying to offer some kind of comfort. From the sound of it something awful happened that related to the Draught and there's nothing she can really do to offer to fix it, not here and not when it's probably already too late.
Merlin help her (oh, the irony-) ]
I can understand that but perhaps there's something that can be done. Maybe there's a way to send you home? Surely the people here must understand that you have a war to fight - I'm lucky, I was finished with my war before I arrived here.
