[ robb's brow furrows with both confusions and hurt. stone is a bastard name and his sister is everything but a bastard. she is of noble blood, the blood of winterfell, of the first men, of eddard and catelyn stark. what would possess her to take up the name of a bastard from the vale? ]

Why? [ he does not understand. ] Why do you beg me to call you what are you are not? Do you mean to say that you are not my sister?

[ his words are sharper than he intends and guilt wracks his stomach as they fall. there must be a reason, he knows that much, sansa would not deny herself unless there were a reason for it. providing it is indeed sansa who stands before him.

but it must be, as dark as her hair has become her face remains the same. only painted with grief instead of laughter. ]

[ she does not deny it. she does not deny being his sister and relief spreads throughout his chest, mixing with the confusion that has settled there.

for her protection she assume the name of a bastard, and that alone sends his mind into worry. what happened in king's landing that caused this? what have the lannisters done? ]

[ his fists relax in her hands, uncurling without resistance. she bends down to kiss them and part of him thinks it to be wrong, a sweet gesture certainly but one of lower station. he swore to keep her secret, to protect her even if it means to lie, but still he struggles with the reality of that choice. that he must treat her like a stone and not a stark, at least in front of prying eyes.

robb smiles back at her, fingers brushing against her skin.

she is returned to him, his loving sister, and for that he is happy and guilty at the same time. he should have saved her sooner, he should have saved her and arya both. he still means to. ]

Will you walk with me? [ the feast suddenly feels more unsafe than before and robb desires to embrace his sister again, to hold her close for the first time in so long. ]

[ with a hand resting on top of her own robb leads her from the revelry, from those unknown eyes and stuffy air. though knowing little of the great hall he walks with purpose, following the halls until it brings them out into the fresh evening air.

he waits for a moment, blue eyes casting a look behind them and once he is certain that they were not followed he exhales. tension draining from his limbs. ]

I was coming for you. [ robb begins to speak almost with uncertainty, he feels as if he failed by the look of her now. older and wiser, with dark hair and a false name. ] I was coming for you and Arya both. [ he had failed their father, but he would not fail them. ]

I pray you will forgive me, I made you wait far too long.

[ he rests his head in her hand, eyes closing briefly and his lips curve into a smile. it does little to ease his guilt, but for the moment it eases his mind. ]

I would have come sooner. [ saved father alongside them, were that his feet moved as swiftly as a raven flies. ] Taken you from their claws and back to Winterfell. I prayed for the day we would return together and I would hear you laugh again.

[ prayed for home. for his family. ]

I must sound foolish, speaking of things I would have done and dreams. I will do them still, when these courts are done with me.
