You've got to be kidding me.

[ she shouldn't be surprised considering the freak parade her life has turned into. but this has crossed the metaphorical line of things lydia martin can easily accept. a line that has only just been drawn upon her unfortunate kidnapping by a bunch of trolls and goblins. ]

This can't be happening.

[ honestly can say she'd prefer to deal with werewolves and dark druids than this. ]

Lydia?

[ seeing lydia here is kind of like a missed blessing. on the one hand, kidnapped by fairies. on the other hand, kidnapped by fairies together. at least she's not here alone, right? stiles is holding his weird fairy drink that he hasn't touched, because honestly, he is really not feeling like getting fairy-roofied, and he jogs across the room at the sight of her familiar (perfect) strawberry blonde hair, and there's concern written in his brown eyes. ]

Are you okay? [ a beat. ] ...relatively. [ and an awkward hand gesture at the kidnapping thing. ]

Stiles! [ is there relief in her voice? yes, definitely. out of all the people to be stuck with in this situation stiles is up there in the top three. (alongside the obvious choices of scott and allison.)

she gives the goblet in his hand (you better not be drinking that) a sharp look before smiling tightly. ]

Oh, yes. I'm fine, I actually wanted to be kidnapped by a bunch of trolls and imps today.

[ lydia's look of death has just as much effect on him as it does normally, and stiles raises his eyebrows and looks at the cup too, then puts it down, kind of cowed because let's be real, there is no one in the world stiles fears more than lydia.

but he scoffs quietly and lets a little bit of a grin turn up his mouth, looking around and leaning in a little closer, protectively, almost. ] Did they drag you here, too? It's like something out of a really, really bad Disney movie. Like one of those banned ones.

[ it's the best for everyone. the world isn't ready for roofied stiles, especially if it turns out that all these fairies and trolls actually want to have them for desert. ]

They did, in a sack. [ does lydia like it? no, she's understandably pissed off about it. ]

[isaac is talking to a few bystanders, hoping that they've seen any of his friends, and it takes him less than a second to recognize lydia's voice. he whips around, abandoning the conversation he's having, and ~~shoves~~ makes his way through the crowd to get to her.

just as he's squeezing through two people having a conversation, he decides to call out,]

Hey-

[and then he's right beside her, looking her over suspiciously to be sure that she's alright (physically, at least).]

So you're here too, huh? You doin' okay?

[yes stating the obvious is isaac's true forté.]

[ familiar faces are always great when kidnapped by fairies and trolls. greater in numbers and all that. ignoring how outnumbered they are right now. ]

Seems that way, doesn't it? [ lydia smiles, a tight and clearly annoyed smile. ] I'm fine, physically. [ just... rattled. ]

[isaac puffs out his cheeks, glancing around the room in hopes that he'd catch another familiar face out in the open, but- no, nothing.]

I take it you haven't seen anyone else around, either?

[otherwise she'd be with them, wouldn't she? there's really no use in splitting up in a place like this. they have no idea what's going on, they'd be a perfect target.]

No, I haven't. [ she is relieved, because if this is some sort of trap than there is a chance the others can get them out. an option that would be way more difficult if they were all trapped in this place.

where ever this is. ]

What about you? Can't you try smelling for them?

I have. Multiple times, actually.

[he motions to the people around them, his tone somewhat annoyed-]

It's kinda hard when there are more than a hundred people packed into a room, though.

No one's kidding.

[ flatly, as if derek's initial reaction hadn't been along the same lines. but then, derek's never really had much problem being hypocritical, especially in times of stress. which this counted as, even if nothing more stressful than a feast was underway. ]

Have you seen anyone else?

[ because if derek's stuck here he'd hope he was stuck here with someone to act as a buffer between him and lydia. that was just for the best. ]

[ a groan.

of course it'd have to be derek. it couldn't be stiles, or allison, or scott, or even issac. had to be derek. because that is what she has always wanted to do; being trapped in some sort of creepy fairy feast with derek hale. ]

No. Why are you asking me? Can't you smell them with that werewolf nose of yours?

[ yeah, a buffer is desperately needed. ]

No.

[ though it looks like it sincerely pains derek to admit this. ]

If I did I wouldn't have asked you.

[ as if they need something to squabble about. but rude and slightly hostile is derek's default setting when he thinks he's in over his head, so that's what he falls back on rather than something more productive. ]

[ lydia laughs, it's hard to tell whether or not she is annoyed or just amused by his confession. ]

Great, a werewolf with a defective nose. That's just what we needed.

[ not that she is any better. on edge and sarcastic, neither of them are truly helping the other right about now. ]

So what do we do? Because I don't stand around and brood uselessly.

No one's brooding.

[ snapped, like derek's insulted. he is seriously considering abandoning her to the hoard of fairies, but he knows that if he did, he'd never hear the end of it from scott and stiles. ]

Just stay close. We'll find the others.

[ staying in groups is for the best, though derek sounds genuinely pained to be admitting this. ]

Could've fooled me.

[ she is certain that it is common knowledge that derek hale's default settings are grumpy and brooding. ]

And if we don't?

Lydia!

[It's called out in between a throng of a few people and Allison is really non to gentle in pushing them aside to get to her. Kidnapping aside- there's people actually running around enjoying the revelry. They're eating the food and dancing or mingling with others, and only a few seem as scared as they should.

On the list of people she should really have to worry about, Lydia isn't top tier, because Lydia's too smart to fall into trouble with something like this. But it doesn't mean she doesn't need to get to her, and stay with her while they look for the others.

She finally breaks through them to reach her, hand reaching out to settle onto her shoulder]

I hate to say it, but I'm glad I found you.
