[ alisha takes the frozen icing, looking it over in her hand. her brows crease together. ] And your stick just freezes it? [ she looks at him, eyebrow slightly raised. she's seen friends die and come back to life, boyfriends turn invisible in front of her very own eyes, and a stupid prick duplicate. she's never really seen a power work through an object before — if the object was, in fact, the thing that possessed the power. ] Anything you want?

My stick or me, whichever. [ He reaches out and picks up a cushion, freezing it solid so it slides with a rasp over the table where he drops it before slouching on the armrest again. She gets a smile. ] I'm Jack Frost. I don't know if that name means ... uh, anything to you. Winter is sort of my thing.

[ her eyebrows raise, then. her gaze travels over him — and he looks the part, if she really thinks about it; ice-coloured hair, chilly eyes, and extremely pale. ] Seriously?

[ but she's never quite met a legendary figure before. it's all kind of bullshit — like superheroes; make-believe things that only exist in books. ] You're supposed to be Jack Frost?

I am, and you're clearly a charmer.

[ Flicking a bit of icing over. Take that. ]

[ she narrows her eyes; it looks nothing like a glare, but as if she's just simply trying to match the name to the face. it's a little unbelievable — and isn't that a laugh? her finding something like this, like meeting jack frost, as unbelievable, when storms can grant powers and people can do such unspeakable and unreal things back home. ]

[ she shakes her head slightly, her lips turning up because, jesus, this is something simon would probably appreciate more than her. ] Never really met someone who wasn't meant to be real. [ is that offensive? she thinks it might be. ] The only unreal thing that exists back home is superheroes — and even that's a load of bullshit.

[icy]

[ He takes it in his stride, though his lips purse thinly before breaking on a forced laugh. It eases as he rubs the back of his head. ]

Thanks. [ Moving swiftly on. ] You have superheroes back home?

[ alisha seems to liven up. this is a rant she's practiced multiple times before. ]

Not real, proper superheroes. None of that Batman shit, yeah? Just … stupid pricks who think that they can somehow save the world by destroying it. [ she shrugs. it's a simplified version of her community service: these so-called "stupid pricks" try to kill anyone who have superpowers because they're insecure little freaks. ]

It's complete bullshit. None of them even get dressed up. [ that's what makes you a proper superhero, right? the stupid latex and underwear worn on the outside? ]
