[Amidst all the confusion and caution, Usagi feels slightly out of place in Caer Glaem. She's not as graceful as the fairy folk (though her appetite surely rivals theirs) and her school uniform doesn't fit, not among the bright garments of fae. Serenity's white gown might have fit in here, she thinks. It's all a little intimidating, even for someone who's faced scarier things than a banquette. She's doing much the same as Ned; desperately searching the room for a familiar face, often bumping into others as she steps backwards or to the side.

She side steps strangers and bumps her elbow against Ned, turning with pink ears and an apologetic grimace. ]

Sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going.

[The resounding theme of Usagi's night. She takes him in quickly, trying to decide whether or not he seems the type to forgive or to grudge. Severe, is what she thinks - but she doesn't think he looks cruel. ]

[ He steps back, a hand out to steady the girl as they bump. ]

Not to worry, child. [ ... Is it just Ned, or do young girls nowadays do the oddest things with their hair? He himself appears like any fair-tempered man his age, looking her over with a glance and finding she's as young as Sansa. He nods his head to the banquet. ] Can you not find your friends, or were you hiding back here?

I don't think my friends are here.

[It's sobering, to say it out loud. He's definitely not from, she thinks. Definitely not from her time period either. There's something about him that's reminiscent of Endymion and his men. Her shoulders slump, releasing some wary tension.

She considers arguing I'm not a child but she's not really in a fighting mood.]

I haven't tried outside yet - but ... I think I'm here alone, for sure.

[She rubs her arm - takes in a deep breath and then tries to give him her brightest smile. ] It's totally okay though - I have to go home at some point, right? And they're all be there to yell at me for being gone. I already know what they'll say, too. 'Usagi, you airhead, how many times have we told you not to wander off!'

[She wraps her knuckles against her forehead and lets out a big breath of air. ] What about you, sir?

[ She's a bonny lass, scared but determined to be brave. ]

I've not seen hide nor hair of my family, though I'll be keeping an eye out. No doubt we'll go home when our new king and queen here are appeased.

[ Wryly spoken. It always comes down to that, in the end. #nedslife ]

Oh, I'm sorry.

[She feels awful that this is the first she gives thought to her parents and little brother. Best that they're not here, really. She isn't sure what she'd do if they were in danger. ]

It's safer, at home I think.
