anna { frozen }
anna? anna doesn't have time for that. not that she doesn't wonder about the logistics of how she ended up here, and what it means that she's now fighting a war, but her attentions aren't focused only on that. no, instead she's much more interested in the feast, in the people, in the sights and sounds and smells. so apologies in advance if she kind of bumps into anyone as she's walking around. she can get a little excited while she's in the moment - the seriousness can sink in later.
because now? this is an adventure ]

[ but what she can handle, however, is a free feast. and while she's sulking and afraid and misses home, she picks up a plate and piles the food on. they don't provide this shit in the community centre, after all — and she might as well make the most of it. it doesn't hurt that this'll make rudy jealous as fuck when she goes back and tells him she dined for free in some bullshit world. ]
[ she's picking up a glass when someone bumps into her. she stumbles, just a little, and her plate tips only slightly. her heart thumps — she's thankful the food she's piled on hasn't quite made itself home on the floor. ]
[ but she's so on edge that her tone shifts into that of a blade. ] Er. [ she frowns and says, rather meanly: ] Watch where you're going.

Oh!
[ -and blurting out things like OH! and squeezing your eyes shut and sucking in a breath all to avoid turning the ground under their feet into fluffy white snow when someone just barely bumps into you in a crowded place. yes. very graceful. ]
--Anna?
Anna.
[ OH THANK GOD ]

so, he's keeping that guard up beneath the surface of smiles, sarcasm and jokes. undetectable, he thinks. and that's enough.
he's had his fill of the feast, for now, and wants to go stretch his legs, so to speak. his head is down—for just a moment, there was one last piece of bread in his hand that he shoved so gentlemanly into his mouth—and his shoulder collides with another solid body.
a muffled noise is started, intending to be a word, but he chokes. then coughs. this could be going better. ]
Sorry— [ a smile is given, charming as he can muster. which, btw, is quite charming. ] Didn't knock anything lose, did I?
