[ alisha has her own drink in hand. unlike stiles, she doesn't think of what could possibly be in the alcohol. she's too trusting of it — nothing is ever free in life, anyway, and when one is presented with a free feast, one goes for it. ]

[ she's standing near him, minding her own business, watching people. it's really boring, actually; this is something simon would do, stand off to the side, observe quietly and disengage from everything around him. her foot taps as she surveys the room for something … and she finds it. choking. right near her. ]

[ alisha arches her brow. ] You all right? [ it's a stupid question, but he was stupid enough to try and inhale his drink. ]

Oh--my god! [ jesus, maybe he's too jumpy, because there was definitely someone next to him and he didn't even notice. stiles jerks and that comes out of his mouth after a loud, hacking cough. he thumps on his own chest a couple of times, clearing his throat and wiping at his eyes with the back of his hand, feeling impressively like an absolute moron as he eyeballs the drink that he's now convinced is evil. ]

Yeah-yeah, yeah, I'm good. Hoooo. [ another little cough. Now that he's at least breathing again, he can properly survey his new companion, and he looks at her, then back out to the room, eventually adding on wryly: ] If I drop dead from poison in the next five minutes, I can totally count on you as a witness, right?

[ she smiles, just a little. rather than blush and stutter, he takes it in stride. ] Yeah, definitely. [ she'll be a witness to the choking boy. she doesn't know if anyone would believe her, though, since most people don't believe any of the shit that comes out of her mouth these days. (storms granting powers. a boy with the power to control dairy goes on killing spree. boyfriend travels from the future to come to the past and save her life from some unknown force.) ]

Although, don't. [ to be frank: alisha is quite sick of dead bodies. of probation workers to boyfriends, she'd just prefer it if everyone were to stay alive and kicking. she does continue to smile, feeling the tension leave her, even if it is momentarily. ] Don't exactly want the only person I've met at this place die on me. Doesn't really make me feel good, yeah?

[ stiles is honestly so used to the stiles stilinski physical comedy hour that embarrassing himself barely phases him nowadays--he just hears coach bark STILINSKI in the back of his head and moves on.

his mouth quirks up in a grin and he smiles at her, because she seems nice and definitely not native. thank god, stiles really does not want to deal with the natives, considering he's pretty sure they just gathered them here because of some weird cult sacrifice.

although she definitely doesn't look (or sound) like she's from beacon hills. ] Stiles. [ ... wait. ] That's my name--I mean, if we do end up dying, at least we can die knowing we knew somebody, right?

[ oh dark humor everywhere. ] But staying alive is definitely on my to-do list, considering.

Stiles, seriously? [ what a weird fucking name. but it's got to beat some of the bullshit superhero names nathan came up with, right? she doesn't expect an answer. ]

[ she doesn't want to leave him high and dry — what if she happens to die and he's meant to report it? no one would ever know she was here. ] Alisha. And seriously hope none of this involves dying at all. [ she's had enough of death. it seems to stick to her like a shadow. ]
