icy: spiritually ecumenically grammatically. (arrived at a very special place.)

Spirit of Winter, it's in the name. You can call me Jack, by the way.

[ Just for her amusement, he touches his staff to the toppled cake on the table and freezes it solid, frost crackling to life over the corner of the wood whereupon the snack lies. ]

Are your sisters here with you?
alittlemorewit: (you know it is not sound)

[personal profile] alittlemorewit 2014-03-15 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
You can perform magic? [How brain breakingly cool.]

That is most impressive, Mr. Fro- Jack. [It feels strange on her tongue to call a man by just a first name. Improper somehow, but this whole place was so and he had asked. He had goodness in his looks and countenance and she decided to trust him.]

I fear that I have not yet seen or heard from them. I admit I feel a little at sea without them.

Are your family here?
icy: could get behind that. (nice style.)

[personal profile] icy 2014-03-15 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Wintertide magic, yeah. I bring the snow and blizzards.

[ His pleased look eases, but doesn't drop entirely. Instead, Jack gives a demure shrug. ]

I don't have any family, but my friends are still back home and they might be waiting for me. Don't worry about feeling out of place, I'm sure you're not the only one.
alittlemorewit: (i quite detest the man)

[personal profile] alittlemorewit 2014-03-15 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
All of them? All of the snows?

Oh, I am most sorry. I did not mean to make you think of sad things. I hope most sincerely that you are reunited with your friends. [Foot in mouth, Lizzie.]

I wonder at the tale told of these shards. I have never come across such a story before. It seems most peculiar.
icy: I only bring a lack of heat. (I'll never be your lover.)

[personal profile] icy 2014-03-15 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, for the last three-hundred years or so. I don't want to take all of the credit for Mother Nature.

[ With a teasing smirk, he shakes his head. Dismisses her apology because he doesn't need one and she hasn't offended him. ]

I'm fine, it's alright. The shards sound like they might be real, along with the rest of the story. Standard fairytale lore usually has a grain of truth in it.
alittlemorewit: (their manners are not equal)

[personal profile] alittlemorewit 2014-03-15 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Three hundred years? Oh my. [Never before had she thought that she might need her mother's smelling salts.]

I admit that I have little knowledge of such things.
icy: for me to fight fair then is it. (that's not much incentive.)

[personal profile] icy 2014-03-15 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
You could always help yourself to the library, I hear it's pretty big. There's got to be a ton of information in there somewhere.

[ He tilts his head curiously. ]

Which year was it, when you left home to come here?
alittlemorewit: (you puzzle me exceedingly)

[personal profile] alittlemorewit 2014-03-15 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
There is a library here? [That interested her greatly.] Do you know where it is located that I might find it?

It was 1813, is that not true here also?
icy: but placing no bets. (don't try.)

[personal profile] icy 2014-03-15 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll take you tomorrow if you like, we can poke around there together.

[ Jack's lips twitch, fingers resettling around his pole as he leans on it while perched on the armrest of the sofa like a bird, less a boy. ]

It was 2012, for me.
alittlemorewit: (your conjecture is totally wrong)

[personal profile] alittlemorewit 2014-03-16 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I would enjoy that. Thank you, Mr. Fro- Jack. [That will take some time to get used to, most definitely.]

2012? Heaven forbid... how is that even possible?
Edited (typo) 2014-03-16 11:21 (UTC)
icy: that doesn't end up in a standoff. (you ever do anything.)

[personal profile] icy 2014-03-23 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm guessing the rampant magic had something to do with it, unless you're used to fairies. Are you, Elizabeth?
