THOMAS EDISON
Height; 5'9"
Weight; 145lbs
General Appearance; Thomas is very lanky--he's all limbs! His most notable characteristics are a smattering of moles on his cheeks. He actually has them allllll over the place. Also known for his mouth being open like always. He's fairly muscular from running and such, but it's all lanky muscles--he's not bulky like most of the other runners were. He has big brown eyes and a mop of brown hair he doesn't even bother styling (who has time for that in the apocalypse, honestly)--Chuck describes him as "ugly as fried liver on a stick" at one point--and since he's like maybe looked in a mirror twice in his life (that he remembers, obviously), he's not too concerned with his appearance.

Underneath his clothes, you'll find a myriad of scrapes and scars. In particular, there's a patch of marred skin on his shoulder where you can clearly see a burn scar; a wound was there that had to be cauterized. He also has a gunshot wound scar in his shoulder, and there are several marks that look like they could have been stab wounds, but they are, in fact, stings. His hands and knees are permanently marked up from rolling around too much in the Maze.

On the back of his neck, Tommy has a tattoo! He didn't get this tattoo by choice. (C'mon, did you really think so.) It reads: SUBJECT A2: TO BE KILLED BY GROUP B. How nasty.

Physical Mannerisms; Thomas walks tall, with his shoulders back and his head held high. He is the picture of a leader (sort of) and does his best to present himself that way. However, he has long legs in comparison to a short body, and he runs....well. for someone who's supposed to be a runner, he's not very good at it.

Thomas doesn't smile often; he's often joked by the rest of the Gladers whenever he does. He's very serious, so to get a hesitant smile out of Tommy is often a sign of friendship. Thomas tends to wring his hands and jitter when he's nervous, though--when he's scared out of his mind, too. Sometimes, when he's talking, he'll rest his hands in the front of his runner's harness as well, to kind of look for something to do with them.

Verbal Mannerisms; Thomas's voice isn't very deep, and he doesn't speak with much of an accent. Rather, he's occasionally prone to using Glader slang (shank, greenie, shuck, or klunk, or any combination of those), as sort of a comfort mechanism/force of habit. He always speaks with purpose and tends to pause before he's going to say something, so he can gather his thoughts and say it just the way he means to. Thomas isn't really the talker of his group--he'll do it, but he mostly lets Minho (or Newt, before) do the pep talks.

Kind of in the same vein with the slang is that he picked up on using sarcasm more from spending time with Minho and Newt. He used to be even more serious than he is (hard to imagine, tbh) but the two of them (+ Chuck) really rubbed off on him.

The only time his voice really shakes or changes is if something is seriously affecting him--Thomas is a known sufferer of some major PTSD, and sometimes you can legitimately hear him trying to compartmentalize.

Fashion; Currently only in possession of his runner's outfit, if given the choice, Thomas would probably dress like a shorts-and-sperrys-wearing rich boy. He doesn't have much in the way of "fashion sense", and he would most likely have one or two outfits he just kind of...recycles. Let's just assume Teresa and Minho dress him, okay? Okay.

He's very attached to his runner's clothes. They're rumpled and dirty and covered in sweat and dirt and probably some blood, but he's very fond of them, even his weird hand protectors Minho made them wear. It has a lot of good (and bad) memories attached, but the good memories are what make it worth it to still wear all the time.

Etc;
