drunken fighting?

[ The table is too short. Celeborn can unsheathe his blade, stretch out an arm, and just about poke Maglor in the chest without straining overly much. He won't, though, because his wife is determined that the two of them will become great friends and go on adventures. Or just not kill one another while both of them inhabit the same land. World. However you want to style this realm.

Galadriel did not specify smiling (and any attempt on his part would most likely result in a grimace), so her lord is doing his utmost to look serious and unaffected by the Kinslayer across from him. ]

Wine sounds tolerable.

drunken fighting shennanigans?

[ The table is far too short, and Maglor reflects morbidly that perhaps if he just laid himself at the Lord's feet they could get the killing bit over and done with before Galadriel knows.

But she always finds out reminds Caranthir And her revenge will be swift and terrible

Instead he nods a little and pours them both the wine. At the least they have access to Dorwinion? Or this world's equivalent thereof. He even drinks first, to prove it isn't poisoned, slamming back the glass perhaps a little more aggressively than is necessary (maybe it will help?) ]

[ And killing a Feannorian in cold blood would taint the Lord of Lorien as a Kinslayer, though he already considers himself such for putting up enough of a defense to get Elwing out of Doriath the night her parents and brothers were murdered. Elf does not slay elf, no matter how much he wants to run the bard through. (Very, very much).

It's enough that they split a carafe of wine between them. Celeborn appreciates the impromptu testing, though. He pours himself a glass and sips the contents. What do you say to someone with so much blood on his hands? ]

Which court claimed you?

[ Maglor might argue it is simply a mercy killing, but doing so would get him scolded soundly by his mother, Celebrian and Galadriel, so he'll keep his opinions to himself.

The question of the Courts garners a bitter smile.

Where else do the kinslayers belong but with the orcs and in the shadows. The Unseelie Queen calls us hers, although I own her not. I follow no banner save our...my own, as I have always done - tis safer that way.

They belong in the halls of Mandos! Paying for the crimes commit in pursuit of useless gems.

[ Celeborn can't quite keep the snarl out of his voice, a reaction to the Feanorian's downplaying of what he is. ]

Yes. I remember. Your way [ both personal and in general. ] until doom claims your bones.

[ A flash of that old fire ]

You think I do not know that? But not even Mandos will take me, it seems, and the Queen has her hooks in my brother. All I can do is to pray that the stubborness that doomed all my family is enough to pull him free and keep the rest of you safe.

[ And just as quickly as it flared it gutters out ]

If there was any way to send you all home away from us I would do so.
