Jinora | Legend of Korra | Seelie
[ Jinora was alone. That's the first thing that ran through the young girl's head at her sudden arrival in the Drabwurld. Or, more precisely, her family and all of the other new Airbenders were not with her. There were people here, certainly, and it was definitely a festive atmosphere. But it wasn't her home. Daddy, Mommy, Uncle Bumi, Kai-- even Ikki and Meelo-- she wanted them. Any of them. It wasn't even that long ago that they'd all been together, but then those spirits came and she followed them...
No, fairies. They weren't spirits at all.
The locket remained clutched in her hand while the other held her glider. She was likely a strange picture to many of the people here: a small, eleven-year old girl who consistently moved fluidly and was dressed like a monk. It wasn't exactly a normal picture at all, was it? But she wasn't bothered by that-- it wasn't even a thought that crossed her mind. Air Nomads and Air Acolytes were still fairly rare in her world, after all, and she'd always been proud of heritage.
For a while she hesitated at the edge of the party. She wanted to ask questions-- a million of them, more then she could count or had the ability to rattle off. The note from the monarchs had left her much to be desired and she wanted to know if anyone else knew anything more... But this was all a bit much from the start. She wasn't exactly the shiest, but Jinora had always preferred peace and quiet. The festivities of the Seelie feast didn't really give her that much. There must be a library around here, too, right?
So it was with a hesitant look back at the party that she turned away to make her way down the halls and occasionally stop to ask where the library was. More importantly if anyone knew a man by the name of Tenzin or a girl named Korra-- surely, if anyone was here they would be, right? She couldn't help but hope and look for any of the people she held closest to her heart.]
[ WILDCARD -- mostly because my inspiration for starters is low, if you want to do anything else go for it! ]

Jinora pauses briefly and smiles widely at the indication. Like the wind she races after them easily. ] Alright, I'm coming! [ Stranger danger may be a thing, but this is the little girl who followed spirits everywhere... Besides, if they knew Korra that was good, right? ]

they dart around a corner, waiting for jinora to catch up before zooming forward again down a hall. their wings leave a trail of gold glitter in the air that all too quickly fades. the chase isn't for naught, however, as a few minutes later jinora comes head first into a near impact with a sleeping naga. ]

So chasing after the fairies came naturally. If there was one thing that was both a fault and blessing, it was that Jinora trusted easily those who didn't give her reason not. And in this case it did work out for her since her chase led to her goal-- somewhat! ]
Naga! [ It's a cry of delight as she airbends herself to propel more quickly to the polarbeardog and bury her face in her fur. I hope you were not expecting to get to sleep, Naga. Mumbling about how great it is to see her into the animal's fur, Jinora pauses and glances back at the fairies ]. Thanks a lot! We should play again some day, okay? If Naga's here Korra must be, too, so I should see her before playing more!

so — instead of continuing on to the library, like he'd originally planned — he takes a detour in her directions, arms laden with heavy books and a sheaf of papers, a tiny jade dragon curled about his shoulders. ]
Jinora!

But the sound of her name draws her from their games and she turns around swiftly. His voice is familiar. It's not Tenzin's or even Korra's, two people she'd think if she was important they would definitely be here. Still she knows him and her smile turns into one of excitement rather then the playfulness before. ]
Mako!

--When did you get a dragon?

[ hahahahaha yeah let's try to explain the whole got an egg so we could convince a dragon spirit to live so we could revive its body and then save its body only for it to come home and die.
actually, let's not.
(the dragon in question, though! she's peeping hello.) ]
Do you know what the deal is, here?
[ because man trying to explain it is going to be rough, even if he knows jinora's not really a kid in all the ways most kids are — not that he'd treat kids any differently, though. ]

[ It's an unfinished question. She was a smart young girl, but even that seemed a little strange. Maybe this place was a little like the Spirit World in that their realities could be different? It seemed obvious enough, but a month was a long time. Not that she'd exactly seen him recently. The last time was on the Air Ship when they left the Earth Kingdom with Kai and the others. Korra and her friends had went off to do other things since then.
But it seemed very likely his month wasn't likely suddenly spent in another world since then since, well, they did get reports from time-to-time...
Regardless, she peers up at the dragon with a smile and a wave. Giving a startled blink at his question she leaned back on her feet. Thinking about it a moment she speaks up with little hesitation. Some things don't change. ]
We're in a place called Allaidh Darach in a castle known as Caer Glaem, for the Seelie court. The fairies said that everyone here was born with something called a Shard from the Uaine Cridhe. It's always been there even if we can't see it, that makes us important to the people here. Both sides goal is to collect as many Shards as possible. [ A beat and she falters just a bit. ] The two courts are at war because of it.

Right — and they're both recruiting people from different places and times to try and win. [ he shifts the books in his arms slightly, and the little dragon starts to claw her way down his arm to get a better look at jinora. ]
I'm heading to the library to return stuff but — I can point you the way to where Korra probably is, if you want.

Different times and places are kind of a buzzword there and she pauses slightly. Why say different times if it didn't mean anything? ]
--Does that mean Grandpa Aang could be here? Or Avatar Wan?
[ She asks the important questions.
But hello little dragon, please let her coo at you and lean forward reaching out a hand. Why are cute little creatures so distracting? Oh, but wait-- ]
Korra's really here? [ That makes her stop and light up, just a bit. At least she wasn't wrong! ]It's okay, I can go too and then we can find her. I'm sure Korra won't mind.

the dragon leans forward to sniff jinora's hand, and then glances back up at mako as if asking for permission — he nods, and she leans in to properly nuzzle the airbender's hand, trilling happily. ]
Yeah, Bolin too. They're probably out with Naga and Pabu anyway. C'mon, library's up this way...
[ and like that, knowing she'll follow, he begins to lead the way, ready to field any questions she tosses his way. ]

Literally nothing Bolin has to offer.
So instead have a Pabu grown to the size of a proper riding steed, followed by two chiahuahuas and a three-legged mutt, tearing down the hallway by you. And then, you know, kind of stopping and backtracking because Pabu's a smart fella, he'd remember a face anywhere! I promise he'll shrink before he jumps on you!! But the dogs will definitely still be barking.
Just uh.
Give Bolin a few seconds, he'll be there. ]
no subject
Pabu! You've grown! And you have lots of new friends, too. [ Moving to try and hold Pabu gently, Jinora crouches down to reach a hand out to the dogs. ] You guys are different. Do you want to be friends, too?
[ ... I hope you weren't expecting her to come and find you right away, Bolin. ]
