Believing he's actually the Hound of Ulster is coming a little easier now, at least. Those were fine words.]
It's not so bad as that, though I think I am quite comfortable to blame my state on the idea that I nearly brought men to fight over me again, though unintentional... I love my husband dearly and do not wish to cause him more grief or harm than I have already, especially with one who claims to be his childhood hero.
Aside from that... I am no fighter and placed in a conflict to which I am utterly foreign to, and if my husband is here, there are few people at home that can protect the children.

[He heard it enough that it made him want to choke fellows as they made illustrious speeches. Cu Chulainn had always marked himself as disliking excuses, undertones and dishonesty. If someone was jealous, they should have just come forth with it. He didn't think he'd have cooperated with Fianna even for a moment, himself.]
That aside, what do you remember last? If fairies are responsible, then they're using one of the true magics. [As far as he knew, he imagined Grainne was completely justified in her worries. Had he been a better father, Cu Chulainn would have held back on his battles a bit for the sake of his children. His daughter would get out fine, but--it was easily said that Cu Chulainn was a touch negligent a father, if not outright horrendous.]
Which means we'd have to shake down a few fairies to see if this could be reversed.

It's always been her fault. From the night she fled Teamhair and forced an innocent knight to accompany her, to that terrible night where she had stabbed him out of sheer frustration. There had been other ways. Instead of doing the honorable thing and negotiating a release from her agreement, she took the "easy way," not that she thought Fionn would have allowed her to go voluntarily. Her selfish whim had been the cause of so much strife and worry for Diarmuid...
And his friends never let her forget it, especially Oscar, though Oisin is more reserved in expressing such things.
But Lancer's comment stirs a new thought... Nobody blamed Deidre for the sorrows she suffered or brought to others... Would these things have even happened if Grainne had been considered ugly? Would Fionn have brushed it off if she had not been "worth" chasing?
The idea doesn't settle well in her stomach. No, it is better to take responsibility.]
I... what?
[She comes back to reality with a snap.]
Reversed... ah, yes, that would be helpful. Diarmuid may have a good idea of what to do as well. He always does.
