l a u g h s informality
Either version would work, honestly. [he nods back towards the dining hall.] That's fine. Who are you looking for?
wHAT SHE DOESN't KNOW HIM THAT WELL YET OK
( :D HOW ARE YOU TODAY, JORDAN??? LOVELY WEATHER WE'RE HAVING... Then her brow creases. )
Allison. I'm looking for Allison.
heHEH
Yeah, that's right. Fairies- they came to me in the desert.
[in mexico.]
[wait...what? he narrows his eyes at lydia before his expression changes into something more pitiful. he knows how to speak to trauma victims, but this is different. lydia never showed signs of denying allison's death. his tone is careful, soft, when he speaks again.]
But, Lydia-- Allison is dead. You are aware of that, aren't you?
deputy dogooder to the rescue
The desert? ( she immediately remembers that at one point, he mentioned military experience. maybe then. but how does he know her by name, if that's the case? timelines are always wonky here. it's complicated. )
( she stops walking, and bites the inside of her cheek to steady herself. but even though she's not moving anymore, it feels like the earth is rocking underneath her. it hurts. the loss of allison hurts. it's going to keep hurting. she'll get through it. she will. she's strong. but to have her, lose her, have her back, and lose her again... it's different. it's deeper, somehow. )
I know. But she was here. She was here, and she was alive. Even after she died at home. ( she speaks again, as she starts to walk once more, but her voice is hushed and pained. )
But not anymore.

[he's talking slowly to her-- he doesn't quite understand what's happening, why she doesn't know or remember the event. lydia is usually so on top of everything, always the first to jump to a conclusion, next to stiles.
at her next statement, he's the one screwing his face up into confusion and pity.]
How is that possible? They brought her back to life?
no subject
( why are you talking so slow she's not a child... she narrows her eyes at him. )
No. Not exactly she just -- she knew she'd died. But they -- somehow, she was here. And she was okay. So I'm looking for her, because maybe they brought her back.
no subject
[as far as he knows. they're all a little beaten and bruised, but it's to be expected.]
So was she a ghost? [jordan] You're sure it was really her?
[he has so many questions okay :c]
no subject
No - she wasn't a ghost. She was real, and alive. Totally tangible and not see-through or transient. Of course I'm sure. She's my best friend. I would know the difference.
no subject
[which he's still trying to get his head around, but he's accepted it.]
Okay, okay--I believe you. Want me to help you find her?
no subject
Please. If you're really willing to do that. If she's here, I need to find her. ( she laughs a little now, though dryly. ) I'm not sure I can keep dealing with three dogs.
no subject
I have no idea, but it is.
[then his brow furrow in confusion once more,]
Dogs?
no subject
( she nods, then shrugs her shoulders. ) She had a couple, while she was here. They showed up at my room one day after she left. Then there's Prada, my papillon.
no subject
[he doesn't know what's going on half the time he's still figuring stuff out okay lydia gosh he's used to her knowing everything and being the one to explain it to her is proving to be a little bit more difficult than he expected when she first started asking him more questions. no wonder they put off telling him for so long.]
Oh. I didn't know you had a dog, too. How did they get it here from home? Did it come with you?
no subject
Mmhmm. ( then she tosses a casual eyebrow raise over her shoulder at him as she walks. ) The fairies asked me if I wanted anything, since I helped them. So I told them I missed my dog, and when I got back from my trip to the station, there he was.
no subject
The fairies here give you anything you want if you ask for it?
[wait a second...]
There's a catch, isn't there?
no subject
Not necessarily. And sometimes, they don't give it to you exactly as you asked for it. They're tricksters, by nature. All fairies are, even in the lore back in our world. So, yes. There's a catch. But not always.
no subject
[his mind is whirling with ideas of other creatures among them, and part of him is very curious about it -- while the other, well, he just wants to go home, initially.]
no subject
heart eyes motherfucker) There are other things. Dragons, weird -- shadow... beasts, they called them Lawkamercyme. Oh - ( casually, with a dry and very unamused laugh in her voice - ) And they gave Peter Hale a power boost.
