Yes, because they want something out of me. Why am I going to trust any of them, never mind want to be friends with them?

It's just that if you're this popular, I imagine you could have anything you wanted. Have you tried before?

I probably could, but most of what I want is dependent on myself, not others. Being better at the craft, for example.

Having access to a family library would aid you in that, if you married into the right one, of course. Isn't that one of the few benefits of a magi lifestyle?

Not that I concern myself with those matters personally.

Books only get one so far. Everything else must be applied, practiced, and perfected.

I can't say that I trust anyone making proposals. It feels like they're just demonstrating ulterior motives. Plus the whole emphasis on procreation for the mere sake of circuits-- [Nope.]

That aside, think about it. Would you trust me with raising a small child? Excluding everything about mage culture, I'm smart enough to know I'm not cut out for parenting.
