[Actually this isn't a touch of home. The court was a little like Meltokio but this place is really something else. Someone left their iPad out - maybe it's borrowed? Maybe it's yours? - and Emil is currently distracted by some touch screen game.
He doesn't seem to notice the fairies putting glittery bows in his hair. Stop the poor boy from getting too embarrassed.]

[Emil can easily be found at The Barrel, trying to talking to Seelie and Unseelie alike to get a better idea of the conflict. He'll definitely stop anyone to talk about it, so go ahead and assume he stopped you! He's also looking for a girl named Marta.

Pick any of the beautiful forests and you'll find Emil there. He isn't sure where he's going but exploring seemed like a good idea. He hasn't run into any monsters yet, either! Lucky him. But really he's just trying to find a way out of this place.]

Noishe! What are you doing here? [He leans over to pet him.] Did Lloyd come pick you up?
[Wait that would mean Lloyd is here. Well duh they probably (???) wouldn't bring just Noishe.] ...Is Lloyd around?

Noishe yips in response to Emil's questions: Lloyd is indeed around! he doesn't lead him to his master just yet though, instead peeking over behind Emil. where are you girl and feline companions? ]

Even though he can't speak Noishe, he glances behind him to see the empty space and sighs.]
I don't know where Marta and Tenebrae are... You're right, they're always here or nearby. But I've looked everywhere for them. No one's seen them. I guess you haven't seen them, either.
[He knows getting down about it won't help but he still wears his usual worried face.] I really hope they're all right. Maybe they're at the other castle.

it's still no good to worry about them, though. Noishe paws at the ground with another whine, snuffing at Emil for good measure.

I know. Marta and Tenebrae can definitely take care of themselves, even if I'm worried anyway... And the others are the heroes of the world regeneration! I'm sure everyone's okay.
[That's right. Everyone is counting on him. He can't be sad right now. So he just ruffles Noishe's head.]
And you look really good, too. Has everything been okay? The two sides are at war or something, aren't they...?

at Emil's second question, though, his ears droop and he lets out a low whine. yes... yes they certainly are. even Lloyd had to fight on the front lines of the war a couple of times, and they both involved fighting terrifying monsters...! ]

I know. I'm not a great hero and I get scared a lot. But I'm working on getting stronger. So please believe me. I'll do my best here, too.

it's not long after that that Noishe's ears twitch, and he looks somewhere to his right, where he heard Lloyd in the distance. not that Emil can hear it... but at least he's not running away with his tail between his legs, so it's definitely not a monster. ]

Maybe even Lloyd, someday, can trust him. And then Emil can give him a real apology that doesn't end with Lloyd waving a sword around.
Speaking of, Emil scratches Noishe's head as he glances around. If it was a monster, Noishe would definitely get ready for fight. If it was a stranger, he'd be alert, too, right? Then...
Emil lowers his voice.]
...Lloyd, right? Hey, boy. I have to talk to him. It's important. Don't worry though! I'm not going to do anything bad. [Unless the Other Him gets upset but he can hope nothing happens.] But... his friends are my friends now, too. I'm really worried that he's hurting them. So please don't be mad if I keep nagging him.

but no, Noishe will definitely be taking Emil along with him as he goes to meet up with Lloyd. it's been calm lately in the forests, but there's still the chance of running into something feral, and it's not an experience Noishe would want to wish on himself or anyone.
so gently, Noishe tugs at Emil's scarf with his teeth before turning away with a yip as a signal to follow. he's a ways over this way! ]

I've even tried offering not to ask anything about what he's doing back home. You know, since I figured it'd be alright to save it until we find a way outta this mess.
But even with that, I'm still lucky if I get him to spend more than ten minutes in a room with me.

[Even if he's accepted that Lloyd is a good person, just like they always said he was, and that he wouldn't do anything bad, he's still hurting his friends. Emil considers all of them - even Zelos - to be his friends now, too. So what Lloyd's doing, whatever it is, it still doesn't make up for the fact that his friends are so worried and sad.]
I know this isn't the best time for it... but in some way it's a really good time. We don't have to worry about the cores right now. Marta isn't here, either, so we don't have to worry about her being in danger. I just need to know what he's doing. Otherwise how can I protect her?

Look, I get you're worried and while I admit I don't know what his plan is, I do know there's no way he'd do anything to hurt Marta for it. That's just not who Lloyd is, alright?

[He knows Zelos has always been Lloyd's biggest supporter - kind of hard to forget how cold he was when they expressed doubt - but it's a logical conclusion. He knows it's one that doesn't make sense overall with Lloyd's personality but at Marta's protector, he can't risk it, either.]
Even I don't think Lloyd would hurt her. That's what's so confusing. I want to believe in Lloyd and I do, for the most part... But when it comes to this, I don't know what to expect. I know how worried you guys are too, as his friends. It's just really frustrating!

[But at the same time, he can't ignore logic. It makes sense that he'd want Ratatosk's core too if he wants the cores. And Emil is a friend. He helped save Seles, even when he has little reason to do so. Sheena and Regal seemed to trust him too. It's why he isn't resorting to acting as cold as he did before. Even if they started off on a bad foot, and even if he trusts Lloyd more- the kid's done a lot to earn his respect. ]
[Well, as much respect as Zelos gives people who are easy to troll, anyway]
...Maybe...he doesn't know what would happen if he took the core off Marta...
Or maybe he does...and he's trying to find a way around it. That'd explain why he hasn't tried yet. He's already run into you guys a few times already, right?
[He crosses his arms, resting them on the table- giving a sigh]
There's gotta be some explanation. But I know Lloyd would never sacrifice someone- even if it was to save the world.

It might not make sense but he believes them all: Lloyd is a good person. He wouldn't hurt Marta. If the Lloyd he's met at the core locations was this Lloyd, then he never tried to hurt them either.
Emil sighs, bowing his head.]
Raine told me something he said once. "How can we go on a quest to regenerate the world if we can't even save the people standing right in front of us?" I started to realise it back then... that the Lloyd you all knew was a good person. He won't let someone suffer. That's why I'm so mad at him.
[He lifts his head.] But you're right. I know he won't hurt Marta. If he doesn't know what will happen, then I'll tell him and we'll work together to figure out another way. If he does know... [He hesitates. He's Marta's knight. He can't believe in Lloyd the way the others do not yet. But still...] ...if he knows, then he must be working on another way, too. So either way, I'll help him. For Marta and for all of you, too.
