Don't worry. Uhm, I know I'm not as strong as he is but I'll back him up. [Emil glances around. It's just him and Noishe, so...
He lowers his voice.]
I know. I'm not a great hero and I get scared a lot. But I'm working on getting stronger. So please believe me. I'll do my best here, too.

there's no need to think that way, friend! you'll do fine here, and Lloyd will be glad to have a comrade like you!
...maybe. once he comes around.
it's not long after that that Noishe's ears twitch, and he looks somewhere to his right, where he heard Lloyd in the distance. not that Emil can hear it... but at least he's not running away with his tail between his legs, so it's definitely not a monster. ]

Maybe even Lloyd, someday, can trust him. And then Emil can give him a real apology that doesn't end with Lloyd waving a sword around.
Speaking of, Emil scratches Noishe's head as he glances around. If it was a monster, Noishe would definitely get ready for fight. If it was a stranger, he'd be alert, too, right? Then...
Emil lowers his voice.]
...Lloyd, right? Hey, boy. I have to talk to him. It's important. Don't worry though! I'm not going to do anything bad. [Unless the Other Him gets upset but he can hope nothing happens.] But... his friends are my friends now, too. I'm really worried that he's hurting them. So please don't be mad if I keep nagging him.

but no, Noishe will definitely be taking Emil along with him as he goes to meet up with Lloyd. it's been calm lately in the forests, but there's still the chance of running into something feral, and it's not an experience Noishe would want to wish on himself or anyone.
so gently, Noishe tugs at Emil's scarf with his teeth before turning away with a yip as a signal to follow. he's a ways over this way! ]

Right?
On second thought, Lloyd probably knows the area well. Better to stay quiet and behind Noishe until he can talk to him. And what will he say anyway? Hi?
...Maybe.]

well... at least Noishe can figure out his way back to Caer Glaem.
it isn't long before the pair would reach a clearing, where there's a very familiar red-clad hero standing beside a tree. if Emil was paying enough attention, he may have noticed the silhouette of what looked like a woman disappearing into the tree that Lloyd was next to.
speaking of Lloyd, he looks up in their direction once he hears the sounds of footsteps, particularly one set that doesn't quite belong. ]
That you, Noi--
[ and he freezes, seeing his companion with a very unexpected tag-along. one he didn't expect to see, especially alone.
almost as soon as the shock is made evident, it disappears, and Lloyd's face hardens at the sight of Emil. what in the world is he doing here? when did he get here? was it already time for new arrivals? one of his hands settles on the hilt of his sword, adrenaline rushing through him as the pair stepped into the clearing proper.
fight or flight. he'd have to choose depending on the kid's mood. ]

And despite all his worrying, Lloyd hasn't tried to hurt Marta. He hasn't tried to pull Ratatosk's core from her. Even Richter has tried that. But not Lloyd.
Still, Lloyd hasn't given anyone answers, not even his dear friends. No matter his reasons and how much Emil wants to understand him, even now he feels a little angry on their behalf. It isn't the time for that, though. He needs to make sure Lloyd actually stays first.]
Lloyd, wait! I'm not going to fight you! And I don't have the cores, so we can forget that for now, all right?
[If he's honest with himself, there's another reason he wants Lloyd to stay. Like it or not, he's the only person here he knows so far. This is a very strange, lonely world after finally gaining friends.]
So please don't run.

at the same time though, Lloyd is a man with a mission, and that mission includes distancing himself from his friends for their sake. he doesn't want them to get hurt, and if anyone knew about his intentions, it'd just put him, his friends, and the entire world at risk. and that was something Lloyd didn't want to test, not after all of the effort his friends had put into reuniting the worlds.
no, he'd definitely want to keep his distance if the situation allowed him to... but this isn't Aselia. this is the Drabwurld, a completely different place, and Lloyd knows logically that he and Emil would have to stick together in order for them to survive. this makes it difficult for Lloyd, since he's sure that Emil will be questioning him much like he was sure Zelos would.
dammit... what should he do...?
Noishe was quick to note the tension between them, and he leaves Emil's side to go to Lloyd, nudging him with a soft whine. Lloyd's gaze doesn't break from Emil, and it's at Noishe's second attempt that Lloyd finally looks away, looking at Noishe with a slightly exasperated smile and a pat to the head. Noishe yips, wagging his tail even has Lloyd looks back to Emil, though his stare isn't as antagonizing as before. ]
How long ago did you get here?
