"Horses?" There is a snort, not at all concealed. "Do I look as though I could sit astride in this skirt?"
It's a green pencil skirt with violent ruffles.

She hesitates, the page lowering again. After a moment of what seems to be consideration, she sets it aside entirely, moving to stand. Alice can think of quicker ways to get from here to there, but it’s nothing she wants to try right now, and she doubts it would get Effie anywhere she feels worth going.
So might as well ask. It's only polite:
“Where is it you want to get to?"
Home, at a guess, out of here, for number two. But for all she knows, Effie's looking for the North Pole.

"Home. Out of here. There's a very important fashion opening and it's vital that I'm seen there."
It's true enough; she could face severe chastisement for missing the debut, not in the least because her image is part of Snow's government's Public Face. That face has to be made up and in the limelight at all times.
"Why? Can you help?" She tries not to sound TOO doubtful, even though she is.

“I might,” She admits, somewhere between awkward and apologetic. “I don’t have the kind of power we’d need to just send you back, but I can get you to the people who do. The, um, queens of this place. It’s…a monarchy, I know, cliche.”
Alice shrugs.
“You could ask them to take you home. It probably wouldn’t do much good, but it doesn’t hurt to see, right?” A moment’s hesitation, then she tacks on: “I don’t know much about fashion, but there are probably lots of cool pieces at court, too. Very…uh. Couture.”
Roll a D20 for knowledge of fashion, score a natural one.
