gordianknots: I've got dirty laundry on them all (Soft consonants and rounded vowels)

At the risk of sounding condescending, I do recall being about your size and having the same problem - making me doubly apologetic about the whole sense.

[Waver makes a point of maneuvering a little to his right, so that any further dusting off can also be done quite out of the way.]
kingmaking: (show me faith)

[ he glances up at him in brief disbelief, then abruptly laughs. ] You grew like a weed, then. Were you a child? [ he's having a hard time imagining children his height, but he supposes they must exist.

after a moment, he offers a polite little dip of his chin, not quite a bow. ]
You can call me Merlin, by the way. [ there's a swift, slightly teasing grin. ] I suppose, since you apologized, I shall say that it's a pleasure to meet you.
gordianknots: The company you keep (You'll never miss)

I had a very odd growth spurt at age nineteen that I still haven't figured out.

[But at the name, Waver tries to suppress a reaction - nearly manages it too, save for his eyebrows shooting up.

There's two Lancelots from different worlds entirely here, Saber's not just a tiny king but one who's been through a very transformative Grail War, and now Merlin. And everyone but one of the Lancelots was in the Unseelie court. Good Lord.]

Lord El-Melloi II. It's good to meet you too, although you seemed to be in a hurry. I'd rather not delay you if that's the case.
kingmaking: (it only hurts)

[personal profile] kingmaking 2014-11-10 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
A little delayed, but I suppose that gives me hope. [ sort of. he's twenty-one, it could probably still happen.

his own brows shoot up at the introduction, looking somewhere between impressed and amused again. ]
That's quite a mouthful, m'lord. [ despite the use of the title, well, merlin tends to be a little irreverent. it's nothing personal, he just doesn't have much use for ranks. ] .. Mostly I was just looking for a quieter spot. This whole.. [ a vague wave of his hand to indicate the feast. ] .. it's a little overwhelming for someone who, up until just now, was essentially a hermit.
gordianknots: Sing your society song - it never changes (We all love the Smiths and dig the Clash)

I'll also respond to 'hey you'. That tends to get my attention, as well as the word pile.

[He grins. Hey you is always better to someone forgetting to leave the II on the title, and miles away from people knowing his real name and using it openly.]

Library's going to be abandoned, if you're inclined to read. If you want air, I think the bailey would be your ideal location.
