[ varda is silent as galadriel exits, gaze following her as she freezes, then sinks to kneel. and for a moment, varda can't respond, a hand curling against the railing as if it's all that keeps her steady. grief fills her features, pain almost too much to bear-- until she uncurls her hand, steps forward on silent, bare feet.

this is another world, and oh, these rulers have given her one of her lost children.

she reaches down, fingers curling gently against galadriel's jaw, lips pressing against her brow. ]

.. I am glad to see you. [ she draws back, lips curving in a small, welcoming smile. ] You have grown in wisdom and grace. Come-- [ she offers out a pale hand, edges blurring softly as emotion threatens her physical shape. ] --will you walk with me?

[Galadriel looks up at her, equally stunned by her soft words and her soft touch. She knows she had been pardoned, true, and she had been set to sail, but- this.

She blinks back the tears in her eyes and rises, taking Varda's hand with a quiet sort of reverence.] It would be an honor. I must confess, my Lady, I did not expect to be greeted with such warmth.

[ she considers that for several moments, lacing their arms together and choosing a direction at random--those stairs, there, going down--before offering a musing hum. ]

.. You have ever sought to repair early mistakes. You have been ambitious, but not cruel. Your wisdom and your leadership have helped to shape Ages.

[ her lips curl, chin tilting faintly. ] Why, then, should I not be glad to see you?

[It is a fair assessment- more than fair, truly. There's very little with which Galadriel can argue. Instead, she smiles, some of the tension easing from her shoulders.]

Call it the fear of a wayward child, if you will. [It's apt enough. She has the same anxiety about reuniting with her parents.]
