Ah! Nay, my apologies! For many who have been brought this night this stronghold will become a home from now on, should they choose to remain, and I would encourage to explore and grow familiar with its layout. But I would also encourage making the most of tonight, the rare times when true peace can be enjoyed by the shardbearers are the nights of the feast.
[ That smile broadens in a moment, mirth flashes in his eyes and he gives a small shrug. ]
Unless one enjoys spending their time differently.
[ Like himself, riding out into the forest in the dead of the night. Though it's not entirely without a purpose that he goes through with this little excursion. ]

It is not my home.
[ Dismissive tone, with a faint edge. This castle, however gilded and marvelously appointed, is crawling with mortals. He does not understand how anyone else can stand to be so near the vermin. ]
Feasts and fighting. That is what I was told would most occupy my time here. Are you suggesting otherwise?

More fighting than feasts, in my experience, plenty of travel too and politics. [ His tone flows like a melody, rising with sweetness and excitement at the mention of travel and falling into put upon flatness at the tail end with politics. Barely, Legolas resists rolling his eyes, and instead when he continues it's to focus on the more pleasant aspects. ] 'tis a rich and beautiful world out there, after all, to sit cooped up in Caer Glaem I find to be a great waste.
[ His gaze flickers to one of the windows in the hall and towards what can be seen of Caer Glaem in the dark. A brief moment, before he speaks again and his eyes fixed once more on his company. ]
I cannot hold it against you that you would not wish to remain here, because neither is it my wish, to be true. It is easy here, however, though I would not call it safe. But to return to where you truly wish, there are no means to my best knowledge, I fear.
[ What sympathy there is in his voice now is all for the plight of all others, his own home has lost all draw for him after all, with his father's return and the arrival of so many of friends of old, dear and resting eternally at the time of his own stepping through the threshold of Drabwurld. ]

Fighting I have done, and traveled far, so it seems the only change is politics. I wonder if this world holds such things in higher esteem than others. Is there a council? Are subjects allowed a voice?
[ It is thus in his sire's court, despite the disagreement between father and son that led to his departure, and Nuada has always considered it a good sign when royals are willing to listen to their people. ] I have not stepped beyond the castle walls yet. It seemed more prudent to learn the layout here first.
But fresh air and solid earth unblemished by mortal touch would be welcome.
