Guts | Berserk | Seelie probably, idk what i'm doing
Even way back when Guts was a military man, he'd never really liked feasts. Being around people bothered him, that was just how it was. Going from traveling on a ship, stabbing a sea god in the heart, losing consciousness while being pulled to the surface by mermaids, and now this, though, that was too much mental whiplash even for him. After only a little 'mingling' among his new peers, almost entirely consisting of him ignoring stares and giving gruff replies to people saying hello, he'd had enough.
Leaving the throngs of people behind, Guts slipped free from the ballroom and searched the halls until he found what he wanted: a balcony. A little fresh air and quiet was just what he needed, and he stepped out without hesitation... only to find the balcony already occupied. Wonderful. Hopefully, they wouldn't mind the company of a tall, well-built, scarred, and reticent man with an obvious prosthetic hand, but better to ask and be sure.
"Mind if I come out here?"
2. Fightin'
An ogre had come down from the mountains, they said. It wasn't a common sight, but it happened from time to time, and when it did, someone had to go take care of the problem. The chance for bounty money and, more importantly, renown to go toward getting influence in this damned place called out to Guts, and he answered swiftly enough. No one else had come claiming to have killed the ogre, the villagers said, and that was enough to send him hunting.
He didn't much resemble a soldier of the Seelie. Clad in black steel from neck to toe, wearing a black cape and wielding a massive black sword, he cut a more sinister figure than the glorious and radiant stereotypical knight, but there really wasn't much else in the worlds Guts cared about less than appearances, even if he wasn't traveling alone today. It seemed he wasn't the only one with eyes set on slaying a monster today, and after a little needling from his traveling companion of the day, he relented and agreed to travel with them up into the mountains to hunt down a monster.
"Keep up," he said in a stern tone, craning his head back toward the figure behind him. Honestly, Guts wasn't so sure about the combat readiness of this person, but what the hell, he'd been surprised before. Maybe this wouldn't be a total disaster.
3. Wildcard!
where have you been all my life... also 3??
Or it would, if he hadn't looked up from his wading through the crowd in time to catch a familiar cape vanishing behind an open door. There's one accounted for. He beelines for the same door and makes to catch up, already thinking of what has to be done next. They need to regroup, and it would really be more fortunate if one of them were with the others instead of each other, considering... but first:]
You know, it's rude to cut out in the middle of a party like that.

It had been a long time, but he could still jump right back into the game. There was just one hitch in his plans. Someone else had been obviously interested in the same mission, and Kisame couldn't claim a clear advantage of getting there first. Now, he could have just outsped the man to the supposed spot, but he knew well how some men reacted to having their kills stolen from under their noses, and it all came back to not wanting a hoard of enemies dogging his steps just yet--as fun as something like that could be. The other option was to work together, and as much as he'd like concrete knowledge about a temporary partner's skills first, this was the better option. So he'd asked politely to join the stranger and his impressive blade, and just as politely made it clear that no wasn't an answer he would listen to.
And now they had set out, and traveling was as familiar as breathing. The comment though, he couldn't help but laugh at and give his new temporary companion a pointed look-over. The blade he would appreciate freely, but the armor was ridiculous in his opinion. Kisame was only wearing light cloth--reinforced in some places with the minimum of metal--and plenty of wrappings, with the blade he'd chosen to wield here--a greatsword, but no Samehada-- strapped to his back. He trusted his speed and skill over armor for protection.
"Don't worry about that." He chuckled some more, and was tempted to put on a burst of speed, or even take to the trees for a faster route, but they had plenty of time. He hadn't heard anything about ogres being fast.
"Now, what did you dig up about our mission?" He kept the question light, but it was information on his new partner that he was looking for over information about the task. How good was this man's information gathering skill?
