Looking for a little slice of home? The Station gives you all that and more. Take advantage of the wifi, have a cup of fairy-brewed coffee (the one they didn't spit in) or sit back and relax on the patio. You can even move your things into one of the available rooms!

[Without conscious thought to support him, Dorian's feet shift. He has an instinct for digging his heels in, and for all the trembling at the line of his shoulders, there is anger in it, too.] I would—I would strongly object. By whatever means necessary.

[He can't help chuckling.] Strongly object? I wouldn't even need to draw my sword to beat you. But I wasn't threatening you, you fool. I was saying your soul is lacking.

If I have to spell it out for you, then you're even more pathetic than I thought. Whatever the hell you did to yourself made you less than human. I'm impressed.

[He scoffs, actually looking a little more irritable than normal.] Does everyone think I'm that unpleasant?

[Dorian's laugh is one of displeasure.] Will you add that mockery to your list of ill behaviours?

What the hell? I'm not mocking you! I'm tired of everyone thinking I'm insensitive or whatever! I'm just helping!

[What.] Do you mean to say you . . . you were truly trying to help?

I said I was, idiot. If it's broken like that, you could just toss it. See, problem fixed.

[Dorian stops, and he genuinely thinks about it.] Then . . . thank you. That was very kind of you.

[Wait. He's kind? Emil blinks a few times.] ...Huh. Can't say I've heard that much outside of Marta and she wasn't exactly talking to me last I knew.

[What does he say now. This is so stupid. He's not pathetic like his other self.]

Hmph. Well, fine. I accept it.

You said you were trying to help me, weren't you? Isn't that a kindness? So you are kind.

[Wait does he object? Dorian seems flustered now so he just goes quiet.] Thank you.

[Ugh. Why is this kid such a wimp sometimes? It reminds him of his other self and that isn't a good thing.] Don't get quiet. I liked it better when you were being an ass.

[He looks up at Emil, expression open.] You did?

Yeah. You weren't acting like such a push-over. So say what you mean and act how you want, fool.

You mean I shouldn't be held back by the morality and conventions of other people. [Attempting to synthesis Ratatosk with Lord Henry.]

[Is he reading into this to get what he wants out of it? Whatever.]

Whatever you say. I'm saying don't hold yourself back because of other people's feelings. They don't matter.

Don't you think the good will and opinion of others is important?

[What is answering things carefully? Silly.]

Tch. What matters is what you want. If you've got someone important, I guess they matter too. But otherwise, who cares about the rest of the world? The only world that matters is the one you want.

The statement, though not so artfully phrased as anything Lord Henry spins, settles in his thought. Dorian thinks about all the treacheries he has faced at the hands of the world, all the deception and mistreatment. Yes, why not only his world? The world did not believe him when he was innocent. So why should he care what it thinks when it is always so wrong?]
