Re: Locket
Shark-Face... So they would take anyone, including a member of the Akatsuki. Have meet anyone else from out world?
[Right now, he needed some answers. Even if they were from an enemy of his, well he wasn't sure if they were still hostile. If they were then this was going to be even harder. But on the off-chance they aren't then it meant he has at least one person somewhat on his side. Naruto wasn't completely stupid since he knew picking a fight now wouldn't really help him. Especially since he didn't know if anyone else from their world was here.]

I'm surprised I haven't. Shinobi would make the perfect soldiers for this little war, and with the power these royals have...
[He lets the sentence hang, still not quite over being raised from the dead completely. Impure World Resurrection was one thing, but being truly alive again? He'll enjoy it, but it makes him uneasy to think about the power these kings and queens wield at the same time.]
But it doesn't mean they aren't here, eh? It is easy enough to remain quiet and anonymous, gathering information in the shadows.

Are you still after my burden?
[Time to see if Naruto had one more or less problem to deal with. Honestly, he didn't want people to know about the Fox trapped inside to his stomach. That he was cursed as a human sacrifice to contain a powerful entity and became a living weapon. And if Kisame was still after him, that would make that difficult. ]

Ah, but you've made the burden into a tool. If we are both claimed by the same... court, better to let you have the use of all your tools, eh kid? And I'm sure you've heard all the things they call me by now. I was never seeking your [smirk] burden for myself. Here, there's no reason to pursue you for that.
[Another few beats of silence pass with only the hiss of metal over whetstone.]
Of course, if we are claimed by enemies, you will need to be removed from play in a way that keeps you and your tool out of the hands of anyone else.
Either way, you are needed alive. Getting you back where you belong so that work can be finished, now, that I might pursue.
[His tone crisp and with no feeling one way or another whatsoever. Pure business. He might as well be discussing the weather with a pleasant acquaintance, not essentially promising to keep an enemy alive for the duration.]

If we are on other sides then it wouldn't matter anyway. Only those who hold the position of Hokage are allowed to order me. Anyone who tries will find me to be difficult. I won't allow these royals or the others trapped here to rule over me.
So you don't have to worry about that. If you are the other side, you just have to keep them off me.
[He flashed his signature fox-like grin. If they were on the other side then it meant keeping attention of each other. And if they were on the same side then they would have to work together. It was a precarious situation.]
My Court is the gloomy one in the north.
going for Seelie!Kisame because it amuses me
Are you so sure that's wise, brat? These royals aren't the kages we know, but they are just as powerful, maybe more. What would your Hokage tell you, eh? To fight and exhaust yourself for no reason, or work with them and get back to your village and duties as quickly as possible?
[He drums painted fingernails on the whetstone and then checks the sharpness with his thumb. Blood wells at only a whisper of pressure and Kisame idly licks it away before returning to the sharpening. Better, but still not enough.]
So you got claimed by the shadows and me, the light. Ironic, eh?
[The stupidly loyal and noble kid under them and Kisame claimed by the court that 'looks for the light.' It should be ironic, unthinkable. Except, Kisame knows, however bad he is, however terrible and monstrous, what he's longed for always has been truth. And isn't truth that burning, unforgiving light that pierces and scatters the murk of lies and would make possible a world where monsters like him never form in the first place? Truth he would fight for, kill hundreds of thousands for, die for. Has already. He won't see it, but knowing he's done everything in his power to bring about Madara's world of pure truth leaves Kisame contented enough. His duty is finished; he'll never return--part of calling on his sharks instead of another suicide method was for exactly that reason. Maybe he can find, if not a whole world, then a pocket of truth here. He would enjoy that. Still, maybe he can use this to his advantage.]
Seems like it'd be the other way around, eh? You're pretty bright; I'll admit that. Maybe there's been a mistake.
[It's mostly idle musing, but it's musing all the same. Kisame plans to fight for these royals, because why not? To wander aimless and without a purpose is more frightening than he'd care to admit, even to himself. If he can lure this kid over to the rulers of light, hand them a powerful weapon wrapped up like a present, it would benefit him. And, well, the kid probably would fit in well enough in the Court of light, and it would save Kisame having to keep him alive from the other side of the battlefield.]
lol, that would indeed make things interesting
[Naruto knew that he was too chaotic. After all, how often did he break the rules or go against orders. Despite his loyalty and nobility, he was still a maverick or wild card. He followed his own Nindō, way of the ninja, which is to never give up and to always keep his promises.
Shinobi lied, cheated, stole and other things that helped them to earn their unsavory reputation. They were hired by those who could afford it and often did shadowy missions. The Lords had control over their respective nation's Hidden Village and thus could use them in any way they wished. Save for Naruto, who rejected all of this. So no, he couldn't really belong to Order.]
You're right, the Hokage would most likely tell me to basically play nice. These royals are more powerful then the Kages. I bet they are on the level of the Rikudō Sennin. That doesn't mean I am not going to be quiet about this but I do need them if I wish to return.
so many ninja would be Unseelie, but like, almost half of Akatsuki could be argued for either
Light and Dark isn't good and evil, kid. They're two parts of the same whole, like Yin and Yang. It's what you do with the light, or with the darkness, that makes you a saint or a monster. You saw underneath the trappings to the truth of it quicker than I would have expected of a village shinobi. Good for you, kid.
[As much as the words could easily be taken as patronizing, Kisame means them. It's still funny that the kid was put to that side, and yet, he can see most good shinobi on that side. Many of the monstrous ones too. As much as Kisame wonders why the Seelie would pick a traitor like him for their side, a part of him is more comfortable here than he ever was in Mist, or Akatsuki. That's what it comes down to, doesn't it? His actions in life aside, he is closer to fitting here than the other side. Oh, he could fit in that Court, he knows that well, but from what he's heard, he'd never be content there.]
That's why you're on that side then. Even knowing you have to follow the rules to get what you want, part of you wants to run off and be free. Keeping you alive will be quite the task. But, you're needed, so I will.
[He doesn't make it a promise, or an oath. It is, so he says it plainly.]
The real question is, what to do with this situation.
Depends, are they towards Seelie or Unseelie codes
[Naruto took out one of his kunai and looked at it. What to do about their current predicament. It seemed like they were the only ones from their world. But that didn't mean there wouldn't be more. He didn't want anyone else from their world trapped here as well. Another matter was escaping, which would be no small task indeed. The only way that anyone really knew was winning this war but that had some problems as well. Could it even be possible since it seemed like it started a long time ago? For now, a temporary fix was needed.]
Right now, all I can think up is setting up a place for our people to stay and make sure they are properly informed. We seem to be the only ones here but that could change. These royals could bring more from our world later on.
no subject
The Sannin Jiraiya, eh? [Kisame nods, as if to himself.] He taught you well.
[There might be the slightest trace of bitterness there, but it's a blink and you'll miss it flash. Kisame tests the sword again and seems pleased with how quickly he oozes blood this time so starts wiping the blade off and giving it a good polish.]
Count on it changing, kid. I can't see any reason why they wouldn't want to bring more of us here to fight their war for them, once they see what you and I can do.
[There's a pause after that, because he's heard about the shards all the people brought here are supposed to be carrying, and if these royals really do only bring shards here... But he doesn't know how many shards there are, and it seems likely that if two ninja ended up with shards, that others have too.]
A hidden, neutral meeting place isn't a bad idea to start with. The first step will need to be scouting for somewhere suitable then.

[Naruto closed his eyes. He heard about a few locations that might do. Daonna, from what he understood, was neutral to the affairs of others but was close the Seelie court. The Station was the same with the Unseelie. Someplace called the Barrel whose owner was opposed to the conflict of the courts. No, he had to find somewhere that wouldn't cause much trouble. Only one place remained.]
The Lands of Briste. We could set up a place there since it far enough away from the courts. But I don't know the relationship between them. The other locations are too close to either court. Even this Barrel place I heard about despite their stance with the courts.
[He could only hope these lands were neutral. If they were then it would be easy to set up a base there. With a base set up, anyone from their world would have a place to rest and learn about the Drabwurld when arriving. However, if they were allied with either court then they would have to search somewhere else. Naruto needed to know more about Briste.]
