Character Name: ben hawkins
Series: carnivále
Personality: ben is emotionally constipated (he even has a stiff walk, dear god), and has a strong sense of justice. he's not afraid to say it how it is, meaning he's quite blunt and that often comes off as rude. he's not a talker and has the conversational and social skills of a rock. or a cactus. he tends to overreact when he's upset or wronged. he's not a happy person and that often gets in the way of cr, especially since it takes a lot for him to reach out to others (even for simple conversation). after being here for so long tho he's starting to get a handle on just simple manners(?) but he still eats like he's in prison. he's very loyal and will stick up for the weak, no matter what. he's the type to say more with his expressions than his voice! also, he's got a heart of gold and is probably one of the gentlest people anyone will ever meet if they get past his grumpy exterior.

Current or future plans: the event this month! i am open to planning any sort of dream sharing as long as he has at least a FEW conversations with your character! because he isn't the type to actively seek out new people, it's sometimes a little difficult to have...plans with him. HOWEVER, if your character is the type to seek out new people, then maybe we can have some mutual dream sharing happen?
alternatively, i am always game for meet and greet logs :)
Catch-up: ohhhhh kay so! he helped saber & margaery re-bury bones, and during the hunt of the white hart he went out with hermione to be sure no one was hurt/to help those who WERE hurt, and received some books from home (yay). he attended the barrel party and kind of socialized, and he also helped heal yseult's eyesight, at the expense of both john and the surrounding area. he's still determined to find a way home and is growing increasingly frustrated with his inability to do so. he helps out where he can, though!
Desired CR: VERYTHING no i'm totally joking, no matter how tempting that is. i would love more negative cr, ben doesn't have enough of it. as hard as it is for him to make friends, he really needs them. he has very few that he can rely on in eachdraidh and that is a GIANT WEAKNESS. he needs to learn how to defend himself and fight, even if he hates doing it. i will always welcome positive cr, too :)
Shipping: gonna have to say nay. he's got enough going on as it is.

so hi I haven't tagged you even though I've seen you around for ages BUT

re: heading home and trying to find ways to do it. Waver's been trying to forestall the war in order to make more time to research possible. I don't know if that'd be enough to get him and Ben into contact, as Waver's a secretive little shit about his motivations, but maybe it'd be something to chew on for the long term?

BUT!!! yes hi hello. i'm totally game to try something out, but that doesn't mean it's not going to be difficult. ben's pretty antisocial as it is, and he'd have to believe that waver DEFINITELY knows something that he doesn't, and for that to happen, they'd have to interact on a more personal level, which is difficult for ben to begin with. if you're game for a bit of slow burn cr and an antisocial cactus, then i think we can certainly figure something out.

Waver's by preference a cactus and everything about him is the persona he's built up for himself as someone to go to if you need information so I can definitely do slow burn and build trust up. He doesn't give everything away at first blush either, as he likes to have a good read on who he's working with and what their motivations are.

UGLY LAUGHTER good luck with that, man. ben's a hard nut to crack. really hard. STUPID hard. but if you're game, i'm so game. i'd seriously love to do something with you. he needs more friends to try and idk..just settle with being friends with him. so long as waver isn't pushy, it'll be a tad faster than most others.

i am so very game for this. And Waver tends to know when not to be pushy, if only after realizing "I HAVE MADE A POOR DECISION, LET'S BACK UP."
