omg maglor has a favorite sitcom :''' )

[Oh, Maglor. Bowing! Honestly, she's hardly surprised, but either he's going to have to stand with her coming at him like that, or he'll be bowled over by her. Or, at least, he's getting a lap full of wolf god. Sorry, he gets a little nervous around her, doesn't he? She's being inconsiderate, excitably planting herself and rubbing against him, huffing and murring and whining, pinching his fingers in her teeth.

She doesn't bother with emitting his name at him. Her gladness is shown well enough.]

[Recently returned. I was here once before...

To onlookers it very well seems that lion and wolf are merely standing and sitting beside each other. Even though she converses with him, she has a habit of continually looking about—half distracted by scents or auras. She briefly considers if it's the same for him.

She lets a heavy sigh that turns whine from her nose.

I wonder, do you find yourself not... pondering how to put this fully together?]

[Her panting, soft smile vanishes momentarily when her mouth closes to reach up and take in the scent of the hand he reaches toward her. She spends some time, cold black nose going over centimeters, a paw coming up to press his hand down a little, and tail held horizontally suspended behind her. It's quite obvious, isn't it? Wolf or wolfish. Then, is he like the Oina tribe?

Out of habit, she's very soon rounding him, nudging nose against his arm, his shirt, under his knee, until she's standing before him once more. There's the placid, only-bottom-teeth-showing wolf's smile again, her tail swaying behind her legs.

Hello.]

[personal profile] arla 2015-01-10 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[ the great greenwood

Bigby isn't the only one prowling the forest in search of solace and answers both. Nasrin has taken one of the mounts out with her to gather herbs for potions...but that is an excuse for a larger goal, one that involves exploring every inch of this land in the search for something (or someone) that might help her in this war - or in the war back home. She doesn't know what she's looking for, hasn't even the slightest inkling of what might aid her, but frankly, she doesn't care. Even getting out of the castle is enough for the moment, even if this trek is a fruitless endeavor in the end.

She takes the horse to one of the rivers she finds, allowing him to drink while she scours the edge of the water for any useful stones for crafting, or plants that might hold medicinal properties. She has only one book with her, one she took from the library, and it is less than useful.

A shadow passes through the trees in the distance and Nasrin looks up, eyes narrowed. The figure is massive but its shape undefined, too hidden by the brush. She leaves her mount for the moment to creep closer, hiding behind the large roots that seem to sprout up everywhere, a sign that the forest is both magical and healthy.

As she draws closer, only then does she see the creature for what it is, and she is shocked to the point of momentary immobility. The Dread Wolf, her mind says first, but the idea is laughable. No elven god would exist here, especially not one from Thedas. But curiosity gets the better of her, and so she follows the creature as best she can, staying downwind...for the most part.
wolvering: (Like sunshine and milkweed.)

Ah, you make me miss Jeord and Trebla.

[Scritch, scritch. It's almost automatic to search out the best spots, even as Pod's attention is half on Kiga. The wolverine sadly grumbles a little at her comment. He misses the other 'prentices and their brothers-in-fur too.]

I wonder what your name is, beautiful one. I'm going to guess you're like me and Kiga and brought here from another world.
gallopingarcher: (It won't bite will it?)

[personal profile] gallopingarcher 2015-01-10 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm-hm! Yes, I am.

[Which reminds her that no one else here is that she can see, and she droops a little, for a moment. But she's quickly distracted by the chore that is getting herself seated. It takes three chairs, and she ends up essentially laying her horse half across them with her forelegs hanging down and swinging back and forth idly.]

Are there centaurs where you are from?

[Her expression is hopeful, but confused at the same time. If there are, does that mean that there are other kinds of humans than what Himeno knows? Because this girl looks kind of human, but she's clearly not an angel, or an imp, or a satyr, or a fawn, or a tall ears, or... It's so very strange!]
wolvering: (I wasn't born yesterday.)

[personal profile] wolvering 2015-01-10 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Pod gives him a look. Really? She could understand if he was starving, but if he was, she doesn't imagine he'd only eat one.]

Do all dragons where you're from think with their stomachs so? What of the consequences? True, angry farmers could do little on their own, but if they went to plead with the rulers, a powerful mage could be ordered after you! Or worse!

[the horse's scent is the first thing Bigby picks up, and while it's by far not the most unique animal smell he's taken in during his hike, it's definitely enough to raise some interest over the possibilities it brings. it could be wild, sure; nothing strange about that. however, experience and common sense dictate that, a good eight out of ten times, they usually aren't, unless the rider has a damn good reason to leave them behind. say, if they dismounted to look for something and got lost; or if they injured the horse and walking the rest of the way was the only practical solution they could come to; or—

from somewhere not too far behind Bigby, leaves gently rustle, the force that bends them a little too hard and fleeting to be the wind. —or if they're hunting something. it's hard to turn your lips into the flattest, most deadpan line possible when you have a muzzle to work with, but damn if he doesn't try.

his ears prickle and his pace slows long enough for him to sense the presence behind him, but he doesn't stop. the last thing he wants to get into is a fight, and while it may be unavoidable given his current state, the least he can do is not be the one to provoke it. that and whoever-it-is might have enough of a brain not to attack something clearly out of their depth; that would be nice.

for now, there's a stream up ahead. he'll see if they follow them to it — that'll set some things straight.]

[ Oh, buddy. If you think it's difficult to describe the situation, imagine what it's like for a complete stranger trying to understand it. Johnny scratches his head, contemplating that answer before gesturing to the sling. ]

So what happened to your arm? Did he do that?

[Caspian can see the confused expression on Tumnus' face, and he tries to clear that up a little.] You see, I'm from, well, I guess from the future of Narnia? The High King and his kin were legends of the past in my time. And my uncle tried to steal my throne and the Narnians and I needed help, so I sounded Queen Susan's horn, and they appeared to give aid. They helped me defeat my uncle and take back Narnia.

[Maybe that would help? Even as he says it, Caspian's not sure it's any less confusing. But his smile grows warm when he speaks of Lucy.]

She was very well. And very brave. And she gave me excellent advice on ruling Narnia. I only wish... she could have stayed. [Lucy and the others as well. It was lonely after they'd gone.]

[the "o" his lips make parts into something a little softer, more amused, when she starts nudging him. she's very mild even in her curiosity, more akin to that of a content house dog than a wolf, but that could just be because very little fazes her. he thinks he knows the feeling, even if he's not as warm in his composure.]

Definitely excited. Although about what, I have no idea.

[granted, she could just be taking in the Station. it is pretty overwhelming, and definitely not what Bigby is used to. the only technology he's seen integrated with magic on a level remotely similar to this was during the Adversary's takeover, and even then it was never this advanced. it's more mundy than fairy, the best of both worlds taken and blended together into something recognizable but still wholly new. he could easily see getting lost in a place like this. hell, maybe he is. hell if he knows where's he's going at this point.]

Are you looking for something?

[Caspian wonders if Aslan has known of this world before, or if it's one of the ones under his care, that he visits when not in Narnia.]

Are you familiar with this place? Did you know... they said there's a shard in me! Does that sound right?

[If anyone would know these things, Aslan would, Caspian is quite sure.]

It seems like we'll be here for a long while, from what they said. I hope I can assist them in their battles.
wipedclean: (and call them brothers)

[Yes, Johnny. That's exactly what Hydra is.]

Because they were making me into their weapon.

And because technology doesn't work here.

Lady Clarke. It's a pleasure to meet you.

[It's not a name he's familiar with, but it seems as though he meet be familiar to her, from the way she looks at him.]

Yes, very recent arrival. It's different here than in my world. [He waves his hand, gesturing at the fairies moving through the crowds.] An entirely different sort of magic.
lonelylovelylethal: (Default)

thanks! sorry for the late reply, busy week!

[personal profile] lonelylovelylethal 2015-01-10 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Val might trade just about anything to see her sister again. But it's a good thing Jon doesn't mention it. She knows it's impossible, and there's nothing she can trade, in any case.

"Yes, they said that about a shard, but I don't understand. Magic? In me? How can such a thing happen?" She wonders for a moment if it was something that the Red Woman did to them both. "And how would I use it? Are you using magic here, Lord Snow?"

It's a lot of questions, she knows, but Val's entirely out of her element here, and Jon Snow is the only familiar face she sees. She hates to admit being worried or frightened, but she is, a bit. Seeing his face is reassuring, in a way.

Even without the scars. She sees his reaction to her touch, and quickly drops her hands. "Aye, the others." It was the last thing she remembers, before arriving here -- watching the commotion at Castle Black from her tower, hearing the shouts of all the men gathering in the yard, as Jon Snow fell to the ground, bleeding red against so much white. "You're all healed then?"

I'll have to look for him then.

[His arms go around her automatically, holding her close. The last time they'd been together had been ... difficult. A bitter argument, and an even more bitter parting.

But still. She's his wife, the other part of his soul.]

What? What's happened to him?
second_time_around: (considering)

nothing to be sorry for!

[The minute he enters the room, he knows. His son is here -- he doesn't have to see him to know he's present. But he spots him soon enough when he hears him call.]

Kanafinwë.

[He strides over to where he sits, and then, amazingly enough, Fëanor hesitates. He's remembering the last time he saw his son, and all the things he'd done. He might not be entirely welcome.]

No, but you can't expect us to do anything about it either, unless you want a new shirt. We're all in the same boat here and we're not going anywhere anytime soon.

[yeah, good luck telling that to a prince.]

[It's the star that catches Fëanor's attention. He's just making his way along the unfamiliar streets, trying to map his surroundings, when he sees the boy sitting outside a cafe.

One thing you can say about Fëanor: nothing escapes his notice, not even the smallest details. And that star... well, it's not a small detail at all. He wants to call out, to demand to know why the boy is wearing that, but... he's a child. So Fëanor checks that impulse, instead, striding up to the boy's table, and slipping into a chair opposite him.]

Tell me, lad. How do you come to be wearing that star on your shirt?
leloup: (pic#8688761)

I think that's the general consensus everywhere. Magic's a lot like handling a dangerous chemical. As long as it doesn't poison you or singe your eyebrows off if it explodes, just about every outcome could be considered a success. [if you're not picky, that is.]

I guess I'm just lenient. Most of the trolls I've seen had more to hide than just horns.

[Both ears prick at the names, taking note of the lull in her tone. Amaterasu shifts upwards, now set upon a thigh and reaching over to lick Pod's ear. It may not be obvious but this is her way of reassuring and asking after her friends both. She even dares to lean in toward Kiga to groom the top of his head if he'll let her. A tentative motion, at first, experimental.]
