Well, for starters, very few people are born with no magical talent. You could try learning magic. For another, I will fight for anyone in my Guild. As the Premier, your safety and happiness fall on my shoulders. Basically, I can promise to teach you to survive in this world and ensure that you do, too.

Formerly of Minrathous, currently with the inquisition. [He pauses. If Thedas was a term he was familiar with, then this man was likely from home as well. And because he's an elf with markings that don't seem to align with the Dalish...]

Does this mean you're from an alienage or a slave?

... [Well, he can't say he wouldn't feel better if someone was looking out for him. Even if... that some one is a fairly tiny, fairly pushy young girl.]

[ He nods his head, once, accepting and understanding her words even as a smile curls on his lips. She has never been overly proud or boastful about who she is and he can appreciate that; she is quiet, tender, and he adores her for it. ]

But you garnered that support. We do not follow you simply for your title, Lavellan.

[ Indeed, half of them care very little for the foundation of the Inqusition at all. He, himself, doesn't put much stock in the idea of a Chantry run organisation finding it's own wings, as pleasurable as that might sound, and he knows that others share his views. They are all here, united, because they have faith in her. Or, rather, they had faith in her. He had followed her to the pits of Corpheyus' plots and had come away with nothing but failure to poison his mind. Even now, as he stands before he, all he can think about is his own failure flickering before he successes.

He would not dismiss these thoughts even if he had the power to. They keep him in chest.

But, still, she continues, her eyes roaming his features, and there is nothing he can do save let her look. She has not been turned away from his embrace, not yet, and she still feels the call of their hearts. Is it so cruel for him to enjoy a little of her love before he is forced to bear his shame once more? She does not know the future as he does - quite literally this time - and he wishes to indulge. He had done so on so many occasions before; why not now, again?

Coward, his mind hisses. ]

[ He shakes his head, frowning as she continues. Dedication, she says, unselfish. If she knew the real reason he had been at the Breach, the real reason he had stayed for so long (beyond the call of his heart that he had so easily offered to her, only to break them both once the time had come) she would not be so kind, he is sure of that. Instead, all he can do is offer her a wan smile, one that he's sure she is familiar with; it's the smile of a man that knows more than he will say. ]

You flatter me, vhenan. [ Which is a dismissal of her words, of course. She thinks him so selfless, so giving, that he didn't stay out of obligation or duty as others had. She knows nothing of the Orb, of why he sought it, of Mythal and his role. If she did she would not be touching him with such tenderness now, her hands holding his as they stand together -- and it would be so easy, he thinks, to lean in and steal a kiss from her. She obviously does not mind showing their companionship to the rest of the world (has she ever?) ]

You are optimistic. [ Solas slightly approves. ] I do not think there is much we cannot do together. You are more than you could possibly know.

[contrasting]

[Still convinced that most people's powers are probably persona-related, she considers the gun method of summoning and chuckles nervously at low-key.]

It can't be that bad. Besides, you don't have to step up with a cape to do something. Although that still sounds pretty cool. But there's a lot of background heroes, too.

[She brightens up. Now that is thinking. Lemina takes the iPad from him and slips it behind her back, arranging it back on the display.

She might have flipped out but she's a natural at this apparently.]

[ As a matter of fact, some do ride chocobos. The chocobos themselves just tend to be a little scarce.

But not right now. A black chocobo is wandering loose in the stables, and makes her presence known with a loud wark in Basch's direction. Though she hardly seems inclined to attack, something about him does seem to be agitating her... ]

[ Picking up a glass from one of the many passing by, she holds it up and looks it over carefully. She's only had a drink once before and in doing so, she went mad with the loss of power. Best to double check every glass she's handed now. ]

[ben sees amaterasu out of the corner of his eye and does a double take: that is not a regular dog. she's wolf-like, he thinks, not like the other strange animals that roam the halls and forests. something about her draws him closer and he finds himself grabbing a plate of meat on his way toward her. if there is one thing he has learned about animals while he's been here, coaxing them with food (almost) always works.]

[he crouches in front of her, tone soft and curious as he holds out a piece of food. she's not native to this world, he doesn't think. the dogs he's known have never been so social, aside from javik's varren, which still startle him from time to time, what with their looks.]

[he's talking to a dog, which should be embarrassing, but after training his own ceffyl dwr, it doesn't feel nearly as odd as it used to be.]

[ there's a skinny guy in jeans and a band t-shirt, long hair pulled back in a ponytail, wandering around tonight. he looks out of place for a couple of reasons-- for one thing, he looks kind of excited. for another, even if you're not sensitive to this sort of thing, he seems.. kind of... holy. really holy, actually. like if you're a vampire or something, you probably don't want to hang out with this guy.

still, he's pretty much being a normal guy?? jesus kind of likes it that way, and he's enjoying all of this, but it's also pretty awful, being asked to come help in a war effort. didn't they know that he's a pacifist? but then, maybe he can help by making efforts to reconcile the courts? he just isn't sure yet.

.. in the meantime, the food's really good. he's navigating his way through the crowd with a plate in one hand and a cup in the other, trying to get out to find somewhere a little quieter, when he literally bumps into someone and.. spills wine all over them. ]

Oh! Gosh, I'm really sorry! [ why is he so clumsy??? still, with a little bitty miracle, at least they're clean and dry again, now, and he offers a bright, warm smile in apology. ] There! Are you okay now?

[ when the feed flickers on, jesus is smiling as warmly as ever, his hair pinned back in a messy bun, seated in a chair with his feet pulled up on the cushion. he lifts the hand not holding the locket in a little wave, and is that a big, splotchy, ugly scar right in the middle of his palm..? that probably hurt at some point. ]

Hello! This is pretty new for me, I have to say. It's a little like suddenly finding oneself in an RPG..

[ he trails off for a moment, then clears his throat. ]

Um, anyway, please call me Yeshua. [ he shifts to set the locket down, skewing the feed a little, fingers picking absently at a hole in his jeans near his knee. ] I'm.. not much of a fighter. At all, really. I don't really believe in this sort of thing. But I can heal and do a bunch of other things, so no matter which court you're in, I'm willing to help if you need me.

Hey, I actually know a guy that's kind of like you. [She giggles, mostly to herself as she thinks of a certain broody character type. A sad smile is brief afterwards, but she fixes it quickly with a wide grin.]

He never wanted to fight, kept saying it wasn't for him. Always liked to hang back and stay out of the spotlight. [She realizes she's going into past tense and corrects herself.] He's quiet like you. But you know, he still really cares about helping people.

[She gives her new friend a poke on the chest.] Is that what you are? Secret hero who frowns a lot but he's a big ol' sap inside?

Uh... Sure.

[ The total 180 isn't quite the reaction he was expecting, but hey, it works. And he can't see any harm in going along with her for now...right?

But if they're about to be partners in crime over this— ]

[He'd been told by his sister that physical contact from a girl like this is flirting, but he's not so sure? She gives off such an enthusiastic vibe that he can see her doing this to everyone she meets.] I dunno about the hero part. Or the sap part. ... maybe? I honestly don't know.

I can definitely imagine you as the not-so-secret hero type, though.

[ But even as he says it, he realizes just how unlikely it all sounds. Not that getting whisked away to another world is much more plausible, but still.

He looks up at Bucky, expression bleak. ]

[ you know, korra doesn't spend a lot of time down here at the feast, but when she brushes by this guy — this weird, nomad looking guy — she can't help but get a buzz of something spiritual off of him.

so excuse her as she turns around with the oddest of looks on her face, watching jesus walk away a few steps.

and you know, as the avatar of the world, the host of the light spirit, jesus might be able to feel something off of her, too. ]

[If it's flirting, Minako doesn't see it that way, since she has a habit of finding new friends too easily, whether it's reciprocated or not. Even with the more reserved types like this, she certainly doesn't hold back.]

Ha, funny you should say that, considering ... [Well, a lot of her "hero stuff" is very secret.] You might be right though, I guess. My friends always kind of appoint me as the leader a lot for some reason. The reason's a mystery even to me though.

[So innocent and so not. But at least she's stopped giggling, and isn't pointedly looking at the punch anymore?]

Trust me! I can't stand to see a cute girl worried, okay? [Wow, she knows she shouldn't make a promise like that, though. Saying not to worry at all makes it sound like she can get them home and while she sure as hell will try, if they already overrode her magic to bring her here, well...]
