Well. Then you're already ahead of the curve. Magic's only in stories where I come from.

[Then she perks up and takes a deep breath before launching into her spiel.]

Oh man they're the coolest shit ever. You have these controls, right? Like a stick to move, A, B, X, Y. And they control your character on the TV screen. You can play badass dudes who fight each other and control a space ship. And oh man, it's so awesome.

[Mary also has exceptional posture, and at Sera's comment she unfurls to her tallest hight, her voice deadpan.]

Goodness, and here I was thinking they set it all out for us to play with.

Oi! [If Utena's hands were free, she'd facepalm. As it is, she just helplessly watches this potato flood.

Man, were they going to get in trouble for this? She had no idea how imaginary fairy kingdoms operated. She sets Greg down some ways away from the mashed potato and gravy monsoon, and rubs at her forehead.]
Yeah, it's something else...but now things are kinda a mess.

['Kinda.']

Previously, I was only familiar with two- but it seems there are innumerable ones. And this place lies between all of them.

[Yes, Sabriel decides, this woman is definitely from Ancelstierre.]

You're from Ancelstierre, aren't you? I attended school there myself- Wyverley College.
no_fates: (Quite a performance)

AHHH! I'm glad you did! But also wow let's not pull a Vaan here

It's not easy being popular.

[The answer comes quick enough, and the smugness in his voice rivals the smirk that grows even more when he hears her voice. He would recognize that familiar accent even if a million Viera surrounded him. He doesn't show it, but a sense of relief washes over him. At least now he knew that she was also brought here and not being held captive in some cell, or worse...]

Still, I've had enough of chains to last me a lifetime. Best we make our exit before they decide to tighten them.

[He puts the goblet down after inspecting it one last time before turning to her with a lazy shift of his weight. He rests his hands on his hips just below his belt as he quickly glances her up and down. She looks fairly unscathed, but just in case:]

You all right?

[Mary is momentarily preoccupied with the dress. She has never seen such a beautiful fabric in her life. It's quite as mysterious as the woman who wears it, one who keeps her long hair down across her chest.]

Thank you for your kind words. Dinner is usually served differently where I come from.

No, I'm afraid not. I don't believe I've heard of either of those places. I'm from Yorkshire, Downton. My name is Lady Mary Crawley.

[ LOCKET ]
[ this is...weird. for a moment clarke's confused face looms in the video, then she sits back and clears her throat loudly, trying to be all 'business'.

it's...not working.
]

This is- transmitting, right? [ she mumbles under her breath, before straightening her posture a little and raising a hand in a vague greeting. ] I'm looking for people of the Ark. Sky People. if that means anything to you- please, let me know. I need to find my people.

[ pause, and then: ]

And- people who understand all of this. ...What if they're in the other Court?

[ FEAST ]
Clarke isn't exactly comfortable - but then again, she doesn't exactly fit in amongst the merriment and finery. She's still covered in mud, blood and scars, there hadn't exactly been any real time to change into nicer digs before coming to fix up someone else's problems. Still, she tries to smile as best as she can in face of the strangers around her. It's going to be a lot easier to try and get a read on the people around her if she at least tries to blend in, right?

Right. Anyway, the more selfish side of her realises with a slight jolt that she's starving. She hasn't had a real meal since leaving Mount Weather, and the painful growl in her stomach reminds her of the fact. As carefully as she can manage she worms her way between people, trying to disturb as little as possible as she reaches out towards the tables. Naturally it doesn't work out as well as she hopes, and she manages to spill half a plate of food rather ungracefully across the table (and maybe even someone's lap too), but before she apologises she quickly pushes something sweet and light into her mouth.

"Oh, Christ, I'm sorry," she certainly looks sincere enough, cringing slightly as she tries to tidy up, "It's- I've had a long day, hang on, let me get that."

(ooc: actionspam or prose responses both a-okay, i'll match what you give!)

I am. [Once Galadriel might have thought that obvious beyond questioning, but here many things have changed.] And there is naught to forgive; had you not taken the lead, I might have posed you the same question. You do not hail from Arda, I assume?

[It does help, she does feel better for crying and for his soothing gestures. She never realized just how much she's missed him until this moment, never imagined how much more at ease she'd feel with him close by again. She doesn't want to let go, doesn't want to let him out of her sight. Not even for a moment though she knows the monarchs may send them on quests that could take them to separate ends of the land.

At least she has some comfort in the thought that, outside of Caer Glaem (which tended to be the target of too many attacks) they could seek refuge in Thranduil's realm.]

When you say as much, I cannot doubt it. You have ever been honest with me. [Except those first couple thousand years. Lies by omission.]

Flatterer. [As he smiles, so does she and she leans up to kiss him lightly.] I have missed you. So much.

[ It isn't a dialect Draco is familiar with, but Toothless is able to get the gist of it across. He frowns at them for a short moment after, not answering Hiccup, nor Toothless, immediately. He raises up to sit high up on his hind legs, which puts his height up over where the two hover, and he carefully unfurls his own wings, stretching them out to what is a fairly impressive length. He looks grim, deciding whether to trust what the other dragon claims or not.

When he does speak again, it's in his own kind of language, though his is more rolling growls and long S sounds. He speaks slowly, for it has been quite some time since he has spoken only in dragon to another dragon, and as it's only two words, hopefully easy enough to comprehend.

He simply tells Toothless that he understands.

Then, to Hiccup, his shifts his attention as well as his language.
]

No. If he would call you brother, then who am I to separate you, even if only for a moment? [ Still a very strange setup, but it was not at all long ago that he called a human of his own a dear friend. All that said, he draws his wings back in, folding them neatly and settling down on all four legs again. ] My name is not one that would be easy on your tongue, though the last man to have walked by my side was content to call me Draco, if that suits you.

And I can't recall ever hearing of Yorkshire or Downton, so we are equally ignorant in that regard. [Sabriel cracks a smile though.]

My name is Abhorsen Sabriel, fifty third Abhorsen of the Old Kingdom, since our hosts seem so interested in the titles we possess. A pleasure to meet you, Lady Mary.

I know less than I might wish of your particular practices, as you may well guess; my own background is in Noldorin metalwork. It was my kinsmen who worked more closely with others of your race. Yet I am not so unfamiliar with the craft that I may not be appreciative.

[You're ruining her logic against you.]

[In that aspect, Elros still walked the same path as his brother. Always wanted to do the best they could to help. Things back home were at a lull when the fae had come to him.

And he was no happier for the deception at the real state of things. All out war. It made his blood run cold before starting a slow boil.

He stood at the edges of the feast, working through the anger before it could sweep him out of control. Then a certain figure caught the corner of an eye - the walk, the form of dress. Everything about it had him turn with a faint frown before disbelief had his eyes widen, breath catch and heart start to race.

Impossible.

And yet...his feet started moving before his mind caught up, and once it did, he didn't try to stop. He stepped through the crowd with the natural grace and ease of the elves, even if he'd chosen the other path permitted those of their family.]

I am fine.

[She has no wounds to speak of and is perfectly able to fly away with him if he desires it. Fran doesn't ask him if he's well. She can tell. If he were injured, she would know it. It's impossible to hide such things from her.]

Where can we go? There is much unknown territory before us.

[Their options are pretty limitless, aside from the lands owned by the 'enemy'. Still, they are no enemy to Fran, and she's sure Balthier feels the same way. Friends and enemies are such loose terms at times, especially for a pirate.]

[ Waggling eyebrows at the zen guru comment, he piles a hearty meal onto a plate and slides it over to Sam, a bacon roll made for himself; with a casual wave of a hand, the washing up goes one step better, and vanishes altogether with a faint green mist.

Leaning on the counter, he munches his floury roll thoughtfully. ]

I wouldn't know, I only arrived today, but I find it's best to always make use of a situation no matter how it comes about. For example, there are a lot of angry people stomping around indignantly at either of the castles, demanding their right to go home. Are they doing anything productive? No! Not at all. Not like us.

For we ...

[ He drops a piece of bacon on the counter, sucking his fingers clean as he finishes off the rest of his meal. Above the discarded strip, the air dances in shades of green once more as the same fingers caress the barriers between realms that has a stronger signature at the Station, a bright heat fissuring in place. (Strong fairy magic, but I know this tune.) The little bright sparks die down when Loki pops the remaining meat in his mouth, eating it cheerfully. ]

We're learning all sorts of secrets over breakfast.

[For a moment, Diarmuid looks a little disappointed, but then he nods.]

It's all right. I know meeting someone from her world isn't very likely, but she is my friend and if you were hers, I would have been remiss if I didn't help you get in contact with her.

[He begins to politely bow his head when she gives her name, but freezes mid-bow and looks back up when she gives her title.]

You are a goddess of love? Do you happen to know of my father, Aengus Og?

[Her name is not one he recognizes, but that doesn't really mean anything. Different areas have different gods and some gods even have different names depending on area.

When she mentions helping him with his curse, his hand again drifts to his mole.]

My father tried very hard to remove the curse, but he could not. In the end, we decided I must be Fated to have it. Otherwise, why would a god of love not be able to remove a love spell? I have thought of trying again occasionally, but...

[Diarmuid has lived with it so long and at the moment, he doesn't know if he feels right asking the High-King and High-Queen about something like this. Another shardbearer, though?]

There is a lot going on currently, but perhaps we can talk about trying to do something sometime...

[Bellamy's grin widens. Hearing those words from Octavia back when they first landed would have sent him into a wild protectiveness, but now he just knows how true it is. He's actually a little proud.] Get yourself a weapon, and maybe a third.

[But then his face falls the slightest bit. Anyone but Octavia would probably miss it.] Haven't seen her. Or anyone else.

[ Letting emotions out, whether negative or positive, in a healthy way tends to make people feel better, yes. It's one of those tricks he learned as a young man and never managed to forget (as if he could). He returns the kiss, then drops another one against the top of her head, and tucks his wife against his side now that she seems to be feeling better. ]

Just. Don't get us kicked out.
