[ How clear. ]
Do you have humans where you're from?
no subject
Yeah, we've got humans. People that aren't humans, too. Elves, dwarves... you know.
[ Or maybe she doesn't, if she didn't know what a Qunari was. ]
So what are you? Human? Or person who isn't human?

[ ...She says, with complete blunt honesty and rather a lot of rudeness. Shijima has never really cared to pretend she likes people when she doesn't. There's a pause, as if reconsidering. ]
I suppose that one woman was all right. [ She's only met like three. ]
I'm not a human. People don't understand me if I don't wear this shape when I want to talk, though. So I wear it.

[ It's more teasing than anything, there's a decent amount of elves and dwarves that he's liked, though there's none around for the teasing to be directed towards. He's more interested in her now, anyway, in discerning just what she is exactly. He brings a hand to his face, rubbing thoughtfully along his jaw. His first thought is 'demon', but if she's not from his world, it could be something entirely different.
Which is good, really, considering his feelings about demons. ]
And what shape would you be wearing otherwise? Something beastly?
no subject
Cat. Humans don't speak cat. Dwarves and Elves don't, either.
[ She says it like this is a shortcoming of all those species. Which it clearly is. ]

[ He actually looks surprised, having been expecting something a bit more... fantastical. Then again, a cat that can take the shape of a human is still several steps ahead of a cat that stays a cat.
And then, because he's curious: ]
Can I see? I mean, can you just change back and forth?
no subject
[ Not that she...cares............actually she seems to be considering it. ]
I think I'm the only white cat in Caer Scima. [ More or less. ]
no subject
[ Because now he really wants to see it. Hell, he'll even try to catch them before they hit the floor, if that would work. ]
Might be. They sure like the drab color scheme around here.

[ Since, well. She doesn't care enough to go to Caer Glaem. Shijima eyes him, speculatively, and then simply says: ]
All right.

But now you can't talk, huh?
[ He holds out a hand tentatively, wanting to pet her. But would that be weird? Probably... still, he lets his hand hover over her, waiting for some sort of sign whether it's permissible or not. ]

Born a cat, Shijima doesn't seem to mind being treated as one. She doesn't make any move to bat the hand away, though she doesn't lean up to nudge it, either. ]
