[ such mild repetition. sansa folds her hands on her lap and leans in towards her locket. ] Do you speak of magic?

Depends on the definition of magic?

[ Barry now kind of realizes he should have clarified that specific bit. Oh well, what's done is done. ] Magic can count, since that's not something humans do outside of— Wiccans or whatever, but I was thinking more along the lines of controlling the weather, duplicating yourself, super speed. That sort of thing.

[ doubt seeps though her words: ] All of this sounds like magic. What could it be, otherwise?

[dilatorily]

Powers people got under really weird circumstances? [ Barry Allen, everyone, the universe's worst person to explain powers in his world to anyone. ] I guess you could call them gifts.

[ There's a pause like Barry feels like he totally messed up. When he speaks it's in a quieter and slightly more gentle tone. ]

We'd just ignore it because it's pretty obvious magic exists here, right? Fairies, imps, things out of fairy tales? I can't say I don't believe in it if I'm standing in it, you know?

[ Another pause. ] You don't have to be an authority to speak about it. Besides, you've probably been here longer than me. I'm just the new guy asking about things like powers to a bunch of people I've never met.

[steeledskin]

Nearly nine moons have past since I've arrived. [ a respectful pause. ] Are you truly just arrived? Beg pardon. I ought to have welcomed you first.

[dilatorily]

Moons? [ sorry sansa, while he could probably put it together, ten times easier to ask you. ] It's fine. I didn't even tell you guys my name so I'm probably considered the ruder one in this situation.

It's Barry, by the way. Barry Allen.

[steeledskin]
