1 - Unseelie

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-05 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Well, isn't this just an interesting turn of events? The Human Torch, Johnny Storm, ends up in the Unseelie Courts. Despite the situation, he's openly enjoying himself, basking, thriving off the attention he gets even though he knows that he has to get down to business (listen, it's criminal to focus on the boring stuff when babes and booze come in generous supply; he'll just get to the superhero-ing part later, all right?).

He's right in his element, flirtatious and playful, and with more than a few drinks in him Johnny Storm's showing off party tricks, flames dancing to life at his fingertips, cleverly, painlessly licking the edges of beautiful faces -- Johnny's never felt more alive, delighted by the energy of the vast banquet hall and the overflowing abundance of food.

He's not altogether irresponsible, even if he's largely reckless and impulsive (so often to his own detriment). He'd sent out an alert to Sue and Reed earlier on, hoping that they'd receive it and come to him, wherever they are; but right now, the world's his oyster and he fully intends to take advantage of it. He threads through the crowd easily, plucking a flute of champagne from a passing waiter's tray, deftly hiding a deeper curiosity about this court and its workings underneath a wicked smile and a cavalier exterior.

Coming up beside a stranger, he clinks his glass lightly with theirs, looking ahead. ]
How's it gonna fly if I told you to take me to your king? Or queen. Whoever rules this place.
desperate_times: (judging you)

[personal profile] desperate_times 2015-01-06 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
[He might want to watch who he clinks glasses with. He could be asking for trouble. Or maybe he likes trouble.

The person who turns to look at him pauses, eying him curiously for a moment, but she's already fallen for this trick once when a musketeer who looked a lot like Lancelot appeared in the Unseelie court.]

I take it you're not Steve Rogers. [Definite Aussie accent there.] If you were, you'd be in a mess of trouble for being here.

[But really, it's so weird to see people with faces like others she knows.]
fulminants: (17)

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-06 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Oh, Johnny Storm is trouble, what can he say? He gives her a quick once-over, lazily appreciative. Pretty, relatively no-nonsense; and dropping a stranger's name into the mix, what? He tilts his head and smiles, holding out his hand. ]

Nope. Name's Johnny Storm, or you could call me the Human Torch. [ He shrugs easily, taking a sip of his drink. ] But let's say I'm this guy you said I'm not. What kind of trouble would I looking at?
desperate_times: (smirky smirk)

[personal profile] desperate_times 2015-01-06 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, he does seem like more fun than Steve. Not that Steve isn't fun, but he's such a boyscout.]

Chloe Frazer.

[She accepts the hand, giving it a shake.]

Human torch? I guess that has to do with your party tricks.

And if you were Steve Rogers, you'd be a far cry from Caer Glaem. He's Seelie, not Unseelie like us. [She drifts closer to whisper.] But he's got a cute little Unseelie girlfriend. Try not to be too bad when you meet her.

[Just a little bad.]

But that's a secret, alright, hot stuff?
fulminants: (89)

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-07 01:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Party tricks? [ He doesn't correct her. ] More or less.

[ Johnny laughs -- it's strange to be told about some dude's girlfriend right off the bat, especially when he's only getting to know people (and possibly have some fun with a few of the pretty, uncomplicated ones). But hey, he fields that smoothly with a shrug, amused but interested. ]

Fair enough. Tell me more about this Steve Rogers. [ Do they really look that much alike? ]
wipedclean: (i read them all one day)

oooooh boy

[personal profile] wipedclean 2015-01-06 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
[He freezes, staring at the man.

He looks exactly like Steve, but he's definitely not Steve. First of all, Steve's not allowed here. Second, he carries himself completely differently, and even sounds different.

So what the hell is going on?]

Who are you?
fulminants: (Default)

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-06 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Well, this is interesting. The guy's staring at him like he's seen a ghost; has definitely lost whatever little color he has going there, and Johnny can't help but be concerned.

Definitely shouldn't have startled the man, obviously. ]

Whoa, buddy. You okay there?
wipedclean: (find their fathers)

[personal profile] wipedclean 2015-01-06 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[He asked a question and he hasn't received an answer, and his first instinct is to grab the man and slam him against the nearest solid object until he gets an answer, but he's not... he can't... he shouldn't...

His one free hand squeezes into a tight fist and relaxes as he tells himself no no no no no and takes a deep breath.]

Who. Are. You.
fulminants: (11)

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-06 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Oooookay, the guy looks like he's about half a sip of champagne away from killing him (and is that really a whole metal arm? That's pretty badass). ]

Johnny Storm. You might've seen me in the papers. Or on TV. Or on those tabloids.
wipedclean: (so let's leave it on)

[personal profile] wipedclean 2015-01-06 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[It would be badass, but about 80% of its badass factor is nullified by the fact that it doesn't work and is being carried in a sling right now, but that doesn't mean he can't kill this guy but he's not going to.

He lets out a deep breath and shakes his head.]

No. Haven't.

[He hesitates, then figures he should... probably offer an explanation? Maybe? So begrudgingly, he adds:]

You... look like someone.
fulminants: (94)

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-07 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Aww, that's a shame. Johnny would happily point him towards those periodicals if they existed in this strange new world. As such, there's a locket at his neck that reminds him that he's right where no one he knows has been before, and this guy looks like he's seen a ghost.

Or, at least, someone he's got one hell of history with. ]
Important question: is it someone you want to kill, or is it someone you like?
wipedclean: (just frame the halves and)

[personal profile] wipedclean 2015-01-07 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[He snorts. It's a good question.]

Tried to kill him. Not anymore.

[Someone he likes? Well... he supposes so, though he's not sure he'd say that. He thinks it might be a little more complicated than that.

But then, isn't everything?]
fulminants: (94)

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-08 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Johnny clicks his tongue, grimacing at that. He can only imagine what it'd be like to have someone all decked out in leather with a badass metal arm coming after him -- he doesn't envy the poor bastard in this guy's crosshairs. ]

Because you killed him, or because you stopped?
Edited 2015-01-08 15:36 (UTC)
wipedclean: (of all the things that we had)

[personal profile] wipedclean 2015-01-08 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[It really is kind of difficult to describe the situation, especially with his limited communication. So he goes with the very simple version.]

Stopped.
fulminants: (95)

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-10 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Oh, buddy. If you think it's difficult to describe the situation, imagine what it's like for a complete stranger trying to understand it. Johnny scratches his head, contemplating that answer before gesturing to the sling. ]

So what happened to your arm? Did he do that?
wipedclean: (Default)

[personal profile] wipedclean 2015-01-10 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[He shakes his head.]

Hydra put it on. But it doesn't work here.
fulminants: (98)

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-10 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[ What's Hydra? Groupies? ]

Why?
wipedclean: (and call them brothers)

[personal profile] wipedclean 2015-01-10 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yes, Johnny. That's exactly what Hydra is.]

Because they were making me into their weapon.

And because technology doesn't work here.
fulminants: (12)

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-19 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ...Wow. Johnny looks relatively sympathetic, even if he doesn't know the dude. Also, complications. ] That sucks.

[ Understatement of the year, but Johnny's not sure how to commiserate on that particular level -- and he's no therapist, so. ]

Wait, it doesn't? So how do these -- [ He pulls out the locket. ] -- things work? Magic?
wipedclean: (that's it it's split it won't recover)

[personal profile] wipedclean 2015-01-19 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[He nods.]

Magic.
fulminants: (11)

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-21 12:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, that's weird.

[ He shrugs, setting the locket aside and making a mental note to test it out later. He's curious about this world, interested in all its workings, and has half a mind to search for his missing team-mates later. Party on first, right? ]

What's your name, anyway?
wipedclean: (just frame the halves and)

[personal profile] wipedclean 2015-01-21 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[He hesitates for half a moment. Finally he lets out a breath and goes with--]

James.

[If this guy starts calling him "Bucky," it'll just be to weird.]
fulminants: (50)

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-24 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
[ Blissfully oblivious to the more complex intricacies of the relationship between this man and some guy who (apparently) looks like him, he smiles. ]

Nice meeting you, James. [ He exhales. ] So, d'you know what the hell's really going on here? Is there really a war?

waltzes on in here

[ If there is one thing that is certain, it is this: Ezio knows fully well that an outburst will not solve this situation--but a few glasses of wine certainly will. It's overwhelming, the letters, the betrayal of his father, everything fresh like one gaping wound in his mind. But all of that is so easy to push to the side when he downs one glass of wine offered to him at the bustling party, and then another. Two is standard--it is sweet, almost sickeningly so, but the tart taste of alcohol is there, enough that Ezio feels every bit of himself go lax.

There is no one to guide him here, of that he is certain.

How utterly and completely terrifying.

When the soft chiming of glass to glass resonates beside him, he turns his head, eyes flickering a bright amber as he looks the other man up and down. The question brings him to curl his lips, the scar stretching over them just slightly with a flash of teeth. ]

I'm afraid this would not "fly" at all. Your guess is certainly as good as mine.
fulminants: (51)

HI BABY

[personal profile] fulminants 2015-01-21 12:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Wine's great; there's always an easier time of approaching people when you're sufficiently buzzed, and inhibitions aren't that big a pain in the ass anymore. Johnny doesn't make it a habit to approach dudes, especially not in a party situation; but he'd flitted through more than a few of the ladies, and while some of them were promising candidates to take back to his room, he knows that he has more important objectives to complete, first.

And that is to get a feel of the scale of the entire situation aside from the whole shard in his chest thing.

He shrugs and takes a sip -- that was worth a shot, right? ]
New here, too?
