You mean, you didn't go peacefully? Fairies are trouble, but I got asked pretty nicely, myself.
no subject
What can I say? I'm careful about who I follow.
no subject
Still, getting rousted like that! You can't underestimate fairies and imps. Small little things, but they've got more attitude than most in their entire lives!

[A grin quirks her lips, sharp and darkly amused.]
Trust me, I won't make that mistake again--I'll make my 'no' firmer next time.
So you're familiar with them, then?
no subject
When they steal your kettles and your brooms to wage little wars, they're just the same as most other nuisances, really.
[Though, mass kidnapping for a war was entirely new for him. Lancer wouldn't be able to say he'd ever heard of THAT happening before.]
no subject
[Said with good-natured amusement.]
If they'd kept it to petty theft, I'd agreed with you. I'd say this goes beyond a nuisance.
no subject
How about you? Aside from what seemed like a pretty cool-minded complaint, it doesn't really look like it mussed you up much.

[She raises an eyebrow, her lips curving faintly.]
Or will it? I can act like a brat if I need to.
[She's still not happy about being here, make no mistake. But the conversation is helping her get her emotional bearings--a bit of normal, everyday friendliness to soothe on-edge nerves.]
[He could turn out to be crazy, of course, but she'd deal with that if it happened.]
no subject
[Not just in one court losing. Lancer could understand the stakes, based on the power of his Master. It wasn't any low-stakes gamble they were taking part in.]
I suggest you kick your feet up and enjoy your free time. Folks are about to get stressed.
no subject
You wouldn't know it from the party I just left.
[Her voice is deceptively light, but a bit of steel creeps in as she continues.]
So what is this war about? What does each side even want?
[Because she has no idea that you're on the other side, new buddy]
no subject
[Though, he was a bit of a smart-ass, regardless. In truth, Lancer did care about the outcome, but he was too sensible to get hung-up on the concept of winning. Sometimes, you just had to lose and if he did, he figured everyone else who lost would have a choice of dealing with it or biting back out of frustration.]
Not sure if you'll get straight answers, though. I've heard it's a lot of shifty stuff--the objectives both sides have got. 'Course, that's true of any warring kingdom. None of the truth sits out in the open, y'know?
no subject
[Shifty reasoning? Neither side blameless? Sounds awfully familiar. While she'd never have strayed from Seireitei's side in the war, and absolutely believed they were the ones to back, she has no illusions about its uglier side.]
[Hell, as head of Covert Ops, she'd been complicit in some of it herself.]
You sound like you've been through this before, then.
