TEST DRIVE MEME #7

TEST DRIVE MEME
Considering apping to EACHDRAIDH? Why not give the setting a test run here! OPTIONAL SCENARIOS 01. ARRIVING IN THE DRABWURLD. The Seelie and Unseelie courts welcome you not with mirthful revelry, this time around dear friends. There is a seriousness in the air, though the food is still hearty and the imps still mischievous. After you have been briefed on your purpose here, you will find an endless feast and a night filled with entertainment to placate your concerns. Mingle with new arrivals, sneak down the castle halls and make sure your eyes are always on your glass; fairies and imps have no bias when it comes to tricks! 02. THE STATION. Looking for a little slice of home? The Station gives you all that and more. Take advantage of the wifi, have a cup of fairy-brewed coffee (the one they didn't spit in) or sit back and relax on the patio. You can even move your things into one of the available rooms! 03. WILDCARD. Your own scenario! Explore the Drabwurld or simply take advantage of your Locket! Be mindful, though -- the monarchs are watching and cross court communication should be done with the utmost secrecy. |

Not really, there's just an exodus with folks leaving for the mainland. You're a new shardbearer, aren't you?
[Sua's not sure if she comes off as annoyed or asking nicely. She's honestly too taken aback by this shardbearer's appearance. It has a look of someone who's been to sea time and again, and come out weathered and lovely for it.]
no subject
[Well she's still used to busy ship ports. Same thing really. That hand is definitely there for petting, vigorously at that. She doesn't bother to look up to answer, too intent on PUPPY RUBS.]
Sure am, just a few days old. Can't remember how many, think I spent the first two or three in a haze.
[The wine was flowing.]

Sua clicks her tongue, and tries to piece together what Rider must have been doing between the welcome feast and here.]
Gods below, it's a wonder you made it here in one sober piece then.
no subject
Always managed it somehow, guess you get used to it! And you - are you a sailor, lady?
[This is when she finally looks up, and stands, task at hand done.]
no subject
Captain, A Crewed Interest. Family business at sea, for two centuries.
no subject
[She grins, giving Sua a proper looking over now that she's proved so interesting and deserving of respect.]
How long've you been in charge?
no subject
Shockingly enough. The spice trade's profitiable without needing to resort to anything sketchier.
I've been on the water since I was 15, and I've had the ship for a good five or so years now. I take it you're a seafearer as well?

There's a tavern a few blocks down that has decent outdoor seating and they're happy to serve His Majesty down there.

[She waves her hand.]
Lead the way, then. My treat.
no subject
Don't mind if anyone casts you a funny look. Shardbearers aren't exactly welcome in Leathann these days.
no subject
[Alleys sound like a good plan to her, no need to be with the crowd. She follows Sua, walking in stride with His Majesty because WHO'S A GOOD DOG, IT'S HIM.]
I take it you're not a shardbearer if it's a family business?
no subject
[It's definitely His Majesty! He keeps trying to get Rider to stop to give him more pets, all but dancing atop her feet and trying to get her to stop and ruffle his ears.]
Once a shardbearer's out of a court they're left to their own devices, so the spice trade seemed a secure money bringer for the family.
no subject
Huh. So where does that leave you in terms of the natives and the courts?
no subject
This island's been free from conflict for almost a century, in no small part because there's so few shardbearers here. It's where I've grown up, and it's where I'd like my brother's kids grow up.
Good answer, Captain?
no subject
Good an answer as any. No family for you, Captain?

[She'd shrug, but, dog.]
