TEST DRIVE MEME #8

TEST DRIVE MEME
Considering apping to EACHDRAIDH? Why not give the setting a test run here! OPTIONAL SCENARIOS 01. ARRIVING IN THE DRABWURLD. The Seelie and Unseelie courts welcome you not with mirthful revelry, this time around dear friends. There is a seriousness in the air, though the food is still hearty and the imps still mischievous. After you have been briefed on your purpose here, you will find an endless feast and a night filled with entertainment to placate your concerns. Mingle with new arrivals, sneak down the castle halls and make sure your eyes are always on your glass; fairies and imps have no bias when it comes to tricks! 02. THE STATION. Looking for a little slice of home? The Station gives you all that and more. Take advantage of the wifi, have a cup of fairy-brewed coffee (the one they didn't spit in) or sit back and relax on the patio. You can even move your things into one of the available rooms! 03. WILDCARD. Your own scenario! Explore the Drabwurld or simply take advantage of your Locket! Be mindful, though -- the monarchs are watching and cross court communication should be done with the utmost secrecy. |

"That's what I was told. Broadly speaking. They weren't really forthcoming with an explanation as to the why or the how and what does this have to do with me."
Although that's not one hundred percent true. There was a explanation. Scott's just not sure he can consider it the explanation. It feels as though there should be more.
"Me, personally."
Because it has been, in the past. Because he's eighteen, and apparently everything he does becomes a big deal.
"I've never even heard of these people." Scott pauses, hesitating. Her mood's openly stiff; he doesn't want to be rude or make her angry. But there's reason to suspect she might know more than him. She's probably seen a lot more than he ever has.
So he takes a deep breath, and continues:
"I was hoping you might know something."
no subject
"I wish that were the case. They have given me no more explanation than you." She frowns and adds sourly, "They have not made me any better offers, either. And while I have heard stories of elves and other fair folk, these are not them."
no subject
Scott has to consider that for a moment. They'd never really talked to Angela all that much, and his dad hadn't given him any indication that the Guardians are mercenary, per se. But she also wasn't there, as of the incident with the Black Vortext. He didn't think about it much at the time...but he's thinking about it now.
He might have an idea. A plan, for somewhere down the road, if he has to.
(It might be a terrible idea.)
"You mean, to convince you to fight for them?"
no subject
"I have no interest in being taken advantage of."
no subject
"And if they don't pay up, you won't deliver? Or, if someone makes a better offer, you'll fight for them instead."
That's not a question. Well, it's partially a question. It's him working through a thought process as well, however.
no subject
"If they do not pay me, then I have no obligation to them. I am no one's slave. If someone else makes an offer in the meantime... as I said, there is no obligation without payment."
no subject
Hmm. Probably not the best way to put that at said later date.
There's a lot more questions he wants to ask, but it feels like that might be skirting too close to too personal. He'll think about coming back to them later.
"Do we owe you for helping us rescue Jean?"
no subject
She appreciates that he asked, though. Many would have taken her aid for granted, or they would have thought their gratitude enough to balance the scales.
Before this, she had very little impression of him. Of those the Guardians met, his personality had been easily overwhelmed in her memory.

"Do I owe you for asking you so many questions?"
no subject
"What is the the proper way to repay a lesson, on Midgard?"
