OPTIONAL SCENARIOS

01. ARRIVING IN THE DRABWURLD.
The grand feast is held in the Eaglais clearing. The food is good, the music is sweet, and the evening is lit by gentle fairy lights. All Shardbearers of all courts are summoned here under a universal truce for the evening. Nature itself has shaped itself into tables, chairs, and long couches so that the new guests can rest. When they’re ready to call it a night, Shardbearers are brought to their court strongholds in a one-way trip by fairies and imps.

02. NETWORK
Take advantage of your Locket! The network can be accessed by any Shardbearer with a locket or shardless characters with enchanted devices, and is a quick way to meet new people and discuss the state of the world.

03. WILDCARD.
Your own scenario! Explore the Drabwurld! There are lots of places to go, and plenty of trouble to get into in them!

i have no idea what i'm doing

[Varian, King of Stormwind, was feeling like a rockscale cod out of water at the grand feast. Most who ran cities were used to rubbing shoulders with others at parties and there was no denying that the grand feast was exceptional looking. It just wasn't sitting right with the large human. He was expected to enjoy this whilst his own world crumbled at any given moment?

Disturbed and tired of watching others enjoying the festivities, Varian heads outside to take a moment and enjoy the quiet. Resting easy just wasn't on the cards and-

What in the-!

Eyes narrow at the sight of Alexstrasza, one hand automatically ready should a fight start. Varian hears that voice though, and as much as he wants to scoff out loud at the idea of a dragon not causing harm he can't help but to take a few steps forwards, chin angled up in an age of display of being stubborn about it. Unlike just about everyone else in the universe, Varian isn't paying attention the the nature that's surrounding Alexstrasza.]

You can see well enough from where you are, dragon.

i don't either and WOW RUDE VARIAN

[So Stormwind's very own liege brightens her doorstep. Well, maybe brightens was too strong a word, as the man was all surliness and contempt reflected in every step. Alexstrasza suffers this well enough, takes no offense, as her patience was nearly infinite.

Especially with the likes of humans, so young to their world, so stubborn. She finds it endearing more than anything else, their spirit, their energy.]

Peace, young King. We were not meant to fight here.

[Or anywhere, for that matter. She senses his warrior's heart and extends that aura to him, as well, in hopes it might ease his temper.]

I merely wished to greet you. What has you so unsettled? How might I help?

just gonna flail in circles AND THAT WAS POLITE FOR HIM

[The day Varian Wrynn becomes a ray of sunshine and happiness in such dark times is the day he hangs up his sword forever. Or splits himself in half again. Either is just as likely....

If Varian could hear the thoughts on humans being so young and stubborn his reaction would be classic textbook; he'd be more stubborn over it. Humans were young but in Varian's opinion their contribution to the world was still a strong and powerful one.

Luckily they're not talking politics right now and the aura from the dragoon queen is enough to have Varian's hand dropping back to his side, though for now his shoulders as still tense as he frowns.]

I merely find it difficult to rest so easily when I know one of your kind insists on destroying everything. Stormwind still smoulders and yet they expect me to sit and enjoy festivities knowing just that.

SLOW YOUR ROLL, BRO, DRAGONQUEEN ON THE DANCEFLOOR

[Ah, as she expected. It was simply his nature to question and to challenge. Not even the Titans themselves could control this one, she's willing to wager, and it would invite laughter if it didn't stand a fair chance of making him all the angrier. So Alexstrasza settles down, meets irritation with impassiveness. If there's no fuel to the fire, surely he cannot burn.]

A fair enough complaint to wage, for none of us saw Neltharion's folly before it was too late. I am in agreement with you; I would much rather finish what we've started than sit idle. Still, this world has its own beauty I would not ignore. Perhaps we might do some good here in the meantime.

[The flowers bloom ever higher at Varian's feet just to prove it. If he would stomp them flat, so be it.]

Man I was so tempted by that dancing prompt you have no idea but no stepping on dragonmom toes

[personal profile] shalamayne 2015-11-16 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Sometimes there is no shame in stamping a foot or two to get your own way, especially when it was for your race's own good. The impassiveness from the dragon queen is doing it's job well though, Varian is already struggling to stay angry for too long, letting it simmer to a dull rumble instead of it's usual angry roar.]

I'm not sure as to their reasoning on why I should fight their own war instead of my own.

[Aka someone didn't listen very well. Can you even imagine how annoyed the wolf was when pulled through to this place? That poor old man.... The flowers are noticed and instead of stomping on them Varian actually moves a plated boot back, making sure that they're not damaged by overly large armoured feet. He's not one for flowers but they seemed to be the kind Anduin would like and it's all too easy to imagine his disapproving look if Varian squashed them.]

It's hard to see the beauty here when I want nothing more than to go home.

it's ok... she loves him anyway...... jerk

[personal profile] lifebound 2015-11-16 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
I too am uncertain of many things. But we press on.

[And she knows he will sympathize with that much, for that was his race's way. His own way. She peers at him for a moment or so longer before shrinking down to humanoid form, in the hopes she will be seen as less of a threat. Less of a thing to be blamed for the state of affairs.

Yet she does not cow to him, either. She strides forward with confidence and tips her head up, meets his gaze evenly. Alexstrasza saw the beauty in all creation but saw no reason to quarrel with him. His treatment of the flowers does not go unnoticed, either, and she bends down to pick one.]

And I am certain you will find purpose again. Follow where your sword guides you, Varian Wrynn.

[Boldly, she offers him the flower.]

In this world, or any other, a great destiny awaits you.
shalamayne: (3)

aawww, best big dragonsis.,....trainwreck.

[personal profile] shalamayne 2015-11-16 11:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Alexstrasza admitting that she too was uncertain is enough to have even Varian raising his eyebrows. Whilst he's of the opinion that dragons are assholes (see: Deathwing) and conniving to boot (see: Onyxia), hearing one admitting to not knowing something is definitely enough to have Varian stopping in his tracks. If this one doesn't know then at least Varian won't feel too bad about being annoyed enough to not listen properly.

Dragons having human forms is not a surprise. It's all too easy to remember how a certain black flight dragon had looked as she pretended to be a Stormwind official. Even now the name Onyxia is apt to get someone instantly on Varian's shitlist. At least he recognises that Alexstrasza isn't being threatening and he's quietly thankful for that one. He might be strong but even Varian knows a dragon of that size could probably flatten him with barely an afterthought.]

I'd rather mine be safe and able to live without fear. Chasing a greater destiny.... [Varian shakes his head and huffs audibly. Maybe as Lo'gosh he would have taken that challenge. Nowadays he needs to focus on the more important things, the Scourge had taken it's toll and now with Deathwing scorching the lands.... Destiny could wait. For what it's worth the flower is silently accepted, Varian making sure to keep his fingers from curling and crushing it. Perhaps one day he'd take it home and let his son see it.]

What are your thoughts on this place?

[personal profile] lifebound 2015-11-17 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
[As she had been from the beginning, as she was with all creatures, Alexstrasza looks upon him with kindness. For she knew of the Black Dragonflight's treachery firsthand, how they had distorted his fair kingdom, and so understands his hesitation. His prejudices. She could never hate him for it. It was simply not in her blood.

Pleased that he has taken the flower, Alexstrasza settles herself upon a tall stump nearby and beckons a fawn to her. She strokes it gently as she speaks to him, the quiet nurturer in contrast to the warrior tamed. Tamed for the moment, at least.]

I sense power. Power beyond even my own, power that touches each and every world in existence, including our Azeroth.

[Part of the reason why she wasn't halfway to panicking herself. They will find a way, of that much she is certain.]

But beyond that, my vision grows dull. The land does not speak as it once did to me. It is... strange.

[And unsettling.]
