[Caspian's smile is equally bright as he reaches out to meet Peter's welcome. He had just watched his friends vanish through a door in the air, and he thought never to see them again; at least not Peter and Susan. And yet, here's Peter, and perhaps the others are not far?]

I haven't been here very long at all. I was... pulled here shortly after the four of you left. Have you been here long yourself?

[He doesn't think so - Peter looks exactly the same as when Caspian last saw him. Still there is magic in the air, and it's good to make certain.]

Good. There are more worlds than this one; I've traveled through them over the course of several years. This one is by far the strangest of those worlds, but more in the lack of technology than in anything else.

[her choice proves himself most capable in one movement--she couldn't have provided better directions herself. neither does the followup disappoint, for that matter. she places her free hand delicately on his shoulder as the dance begins, observing to see if his steps are as good as his manners. his is a face she knows she's never seen before in her life, so it adds a touch of mystery to the whole situation. splendid. at the least she can offer him a close lipped but genuine smile.]

[There's a bit more openness in his stance, one hand held loosely by his side as he offers his other to shake. The hinted teasing only makes his smile widen.]

[The glow of one red eye is the only thing that can be seen of his ruined face in the shadows as he replies. The Terminator is reluctant to come out of them for obvious reasons. Most people here have openly stared or even been afraid, wondering about the half-man, half-machine in their midst.

The locals have all taken to avoiding what they are calling "a giant golem." He can't really blame them. He's as out of his element here as a pig in a ballroom. The woods have proven a solitary adventure thus far, at least until he'd run into this naked stranger. He wonders if it's by choice or if he's been robbed.]

[Can he truly argue that? He has, of course, seen the terrible nature of humanity in both worlds, but he has also seen the very best. Funny what war can bring out in people.

After a moment, he speaks, his voice quiet and thoughtful, though no less sure of himself.]

Sometimes it is hard for people to see beyond themselves. It is part of being human, and unfortunately there are times when circumstance can overshadow the good in people.

[He elaborates, because he feels as if the Terminator is asking something more, something someone who isn't human might ask.]

Humans are capable of great tragedy, but they are also capable of great good. The capacity for both is what makes us so great and terrible at once. It is what makes every person worthwhile, why every person deserves a chance. Something, I think, that also extends to those who aren't human.

Perhaps you have only been privy to negative experiences, which I am sorry for. I hope that selfishness isn't all that humanity can offer you.

[He listens with the patient of air of someone who is just there absorb information. It's a quality most people have lost, too eager to wait for the other person to finish and add in their own point of view. There's no interruptions, not until he is absolutely sure Peter is done talking.]

What you have said is very much what someone told me not too long ago. He showed me humanity is not beyond saving. [An add-on to John's small, scattered speeches of why humanity was important.]
